Beautiful walks, with or without your dog(s). Enchanted horseback rides in a beautiful forest. Crossing bordes with Germany, back to Holland again and good food and drinks at Venhof! Perfect day out for couples families, kids, collegues or when you're alone if you love the forest, this is the place to be!!!

Set in the historic city centre of Roermond; Designer Outlet Roermond is home to your favourite designer brands, the latest trends and a range of stylish dining options.
We rented a car and my husband drove about 2 hours from the center to the outlet... that was not an issue as the highway was so easy ride...
- parking: we went early but it was still packed.. you would walk to get in there... and pay for the parking! Usually outlets everywhere else that i have been to; always with free parking bcz you spend hours...
- The outlet.. its big, still expanding, so many brands, organized, but.... prices are not as cheap as you think outlets are elsewhere... they have so many ques infront of the shops so i guess the earlier you go the better your shopping experience would be... some stores are so big in space but so little in items to choose from...
- food outlets: plenty of choices... we had lunch at "the burger federation"... it was so good but the waiting time for your meal kills the joy... guess it was the holiday seasons this is why it was bad.... otherwise its a must to eat in....
One advise: if you are a heavy shopper then bring your stroller with you or carry on... we always do that, it makes it easier to get the items out from the bags and put them in the bag and stroll around... in most countries shoppers in outlets do this but i guess we were the only one in here :)
Last words: its a big outlet but cant say its the best.... went to better ones elsewhere ;)

It is a nice spot close to Roermond. You can spend the day enjoying the landscape and have fun by the river. Yes, they look like lakes but it is the Maas river. Excellent for children the play area in the nearby of the cafeteria. Do not forget to do some shopping at the near Shopping center always open.

If you like churches, then you should definitely visit this one. Except of its historical significance it is a really nice made church. The feeling of awe is overwhelming you the moment you enter the Cathedral. The decoration and the statues together with some of the tombstones that lie in the back side of the church give it a very special note.Definitely a spiritual place that gives room for thought for things beyond the everyday trivial issues whether these would be of religious nature or otherwise.

The Cuypershuis introduces visitors to Pierre Cuypers and creates connections to designs for the interior as well as artistic craftwork.
P.J.H. (Pierre) Cuypers was a master of architecture. He has built numerous famous Dutch buildings. His style is distinct. The 'Cuypershuis' museum was actually partly his own home where he lived with his wife and childern. His first wive died in childbirth at the age or thirty. The staircase and many other elements of the house (like a dome to let in light before electric light was invented) were actually showcasing the craftmanship of Cuypers to potential clients. We liked the story about the man behind the famous buildings we already knew.

The designer of the Amsterdam Central Station and the Rijksmuseum! Knowing that Petrus Josephus Hubertus (Pierre) Cuypers was born in the little town of Roermond the monument dedicated to him is a big, pleasant surprise!
