Described as one of the ‘Top 10 Wine Travel Destinations 2016’ by the Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Hoepler’s Wine Rooms in Burgenland offer a sensory tour to awaken your inner conscience to the world of wine. 8 wine rooms introduce you to a different aspect of wine. The aim: to break down the barriers that can make the world of wine intimidating & give you the confidence to form your own opinions.Tasting compulsory!
Hoeplers Weinraeume is an incredible way to experience everything great about wine. From their tasting rooms to their smelling rooms, Hoepler offers an experience for all the senses that I personally have never encountered before. Louise gave me a tour of their beautiful facilities and lead me through each of the five senses and how they associate with wine. I never knew how vital the soil and weather in Winden am See is to Hoepler's wine! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning a little about fine wine as well as having an overall enjoyable day.

We try 3 wines - was nice, but I think, the building is more beautifully than the wines. Love the Zaha Hadid designed bottles, also the personal who was nice and smiley and answer all my questions.

The Prieler family warmly welcomed us when we spontaneously popped in the 'weingut'. We were able to taste the entire range of their production and we got valuable details and explanations about each wine and its specifics. Particularly appreciated the Schützner Stein (Merlot) and the Goldberg Blaufränkisch - nicely structured and tasty. Visit to this weingut is highly recommended.

Parndorf has good discounts and many interesting shops, but every time I visited it, it was full of people, and you need to wait in a queue to enter the shop...Guess, for example is always messed up, too many people grabbing and throwing things around....All together, it is recommended to visit Parndorf on weekdays.

The formerly spectacular palace has seen far better times having suffered great indignations since the losses of the Habsburg empire and successive occupations led to disrepair. Gradually being returned to glory, we enjoyed our guided tour of that part now open but we understand it has now closed for 2 years of further renovation which hopefully will make it spectacular and bring many tourists to this quiet corner of the country

This beach is very well equipped for water sports, swimming and relaxing, when weather is good for swimming. But there are definitely nicer places around the lake, where you can enjoy its beauty much more.

Nice sailing club with a lot of possibilities! We rented a HobyCat 15 for an hour at reasonable prices. They ask a sailing passport or prove of sailing experience. We could not provide this but they let us a boat anyway. Afterwards we took some drinks on the Terrace! Very nice relaxing area with a superb view on the water!

Pier with the light tower in Podersdorf am See is a romantic picturesque place and although it is small I tend to stay long, taking pictures, watching waterfowl and surfers and enjoying fresh air smelling after water. I simply love it there.

Rust is a nice village and this church (now museum) deserves a visit. Not much to see in it but there are beautiful medieval frescoes, and 18th century organ and some 15th century sculptures. Shame that the painted windows are now being restored in Vienna. The church is dedicated to some fishermen that saved the Queen. €2 entrance fee.
