We often come here so the kids can run around and play in the park. Also the plump duck sells duck food which is also nice for the kids to get up close with the local wildlife.

A wonderful retreat from the hustle bustle of life, a tranquil spot to rest and recharge your batteries. Not so good in winter as outside and plants dormant but still worth a wanderGlad you braved the weather and enjoyed the garden. We all look forward to spring!

What a fabulous asset for the town. Quite a few people assume this outdoor pool isn't heated but it sure is! And perfect to swim on our sometimes grey days. Friendly staff and nice coffees and snacks on hand, as well as WIFI. If you live in or near Petersfield and haven't been yet...shame on you! It's lovely.

We extend a very warm welcome to members, societies and visitors alike. Petersfield Golf Club is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our location is easy to reach from most areas such as Winchester, Southampton or Portsmouth, and the Hindhead tunnel has dramatically improved travel time from anywhere North. The 6,437 yard gently undulating course is a jewel in the South Downs National Park. It meanders its way through delightful countryside with some outstanding views. With USGA designed greens and free draining fairways, it offers all-year-round play and a true test of golf for all levels of golfer. Our modern and spacious clubhouse affords superb views from every window, with our extensive balcony overlooking the 18th green. These fine facilities with excellent cuisine enable the Club to offer exceptional value for Society and Corporate golf days.
I'm a member of this great club. Really helpful and friendly people especially in the pro shop.
The course it's self is open almost all year round, I think they closed for only 1day last year! It'always in great condition and a good challenge both good and not so good golfers.

The Ashford Hangers are a really beautiful bonus of being in this part of Hampshire. They rise steeply from the Ashford side of Steep village and are criss-crossed with wonderful paths, streams, ancient yew woods and beech woods. There are very attractive open bits of grassland too, covered with orchids and all sorts of wildflowers in season and the Edward Thomas memorial is a lovely place to contemplate the view of the villages below and enormous valley and beyond to the South Downs. Magic!

Have plenty of time and patience on hand before visiting with children, who love creating, painting and decorations.Thank you for your review. I hope you enjoyed the session. A good deal of patience is always a good idea when creative experiences are involved. I do hope they enjoyed their finished works of art!

The Flora Twort Gallery houses the work of Flora Twort, an artist inspired by the local area and its people. A fantastic range of sketches, watercolours and prints can be viewed. The gallery also exhibits the Bedales costume collection, which consists of pieces dating from the 1700's. A selection of our collections are shown each year and changed annually. We also feature a regularly changing programme of Exhibitions featuring work by local artists, community groups and schools. There are also activities for children and families throughout the year such as dressing up, gallery quizzes, arts and crafts and a town trail.
The Flora Twort Gallery is an attractive gallery which has a retail area, a ground floor space that exhibits beautifully preserved historic clothing; and upstairs there is a room exhibitng Flora Twort's paintings and sketches and an adjoining Community Gallery which displays work by artists working in different media. The displays are well presented. This gallery ( and the museum situated on the other side of St Peter's Church ) is fun and well worth a visit.

We were in Petersfield visiting from the USA for a friend's wedding and wanted some souvenirs to take back home. We came upon this shop and it's lovely owner Mandy by chance. The store is full of hand crafted gifts - everything from hand painted doggy and animal plaques, hand painted wine glasses and lots of cute craft and gifts. Mandy was very interested in why we were in town and accommodated our needs perfectly. We bought doggy and Penguin gifts and some other bits and pieces. Really a delightful shop and very unusual - unique and very special hand made items. Highly recommended
