The city of Mahabaleshwar is a pinnacle of greenery, boasting one of the only evergreen forests in the world. The landscape abounds with lush hills, valleys and lookout points such as Lodwick Point, Arthur's Seat and Babington Point, all of which offer spectacular views. Trot along on horseback for a delightful four-legged tour of the gorgeous Venna Lake area, and savor juicy native strawberries, mulberries and corn.

Kate's Point is a short walk from Elephant Head Point. It offers a more Central Panoramic View of the vast valley below with green hillsides all around sweeping down. This location offers a Magnificent View of the Delightful Waterfall plunging down from beside Elephant Head Point alias Needle Eye Point. Clearly this Point is most Impressive when the Monsoon is well underway & immediately after - the period July~Nov. River Krishna can be seen originating from the Sahyadri Hills & gradually widening as it flows westwards into the horizon. This Superb Point is a convenient Must-See.

Mahabaleshwar, famous for strawberries is considered Maharashtra's best hill station. Went there for a short holiday during Christmas long weekend in 2017, we enjoyed the chilly atmosphere. Not too cold and not too hot, totally worth it. We visited Mahabaleshwar temple, Mapro Garden, Panchgani (located an hour away by car) and table top mountain.
However, we did face issues due to traffic congestion and lack of parking facilities at locations. This is something the administration should look into. Also, there is an entry ticket for entering into Mahabaleshwar and another one for Panchgani - not really required.
Overall, it was an experience to remember for us.

Mahabaleshwar temple is located in Old Mahabaleshwar area, and attracts visitors all through the year. We visited the same on a weekend in December and it was really crowded, with at least 450-500 people in the queue. We needed to climb a few stone steps to reach the temple entrance queue, and there were small stalls on both sides of the stairs. The idol is located inside a cave and the calmness inside makes you feel really happy.
There is ample parking outside, and we would see buses, tempo travellers and private vehicles, all being well managed in the parking space outside. Also, there are a few good hotels right outside the temple, in case you plan to stay close by.
However, during a holiday season, you would face extreme traffic congestion on the road leading to the temple due to it being a single lane road for most distance, so suggest visitors to leave early from their hotel for the darshan (visit).

Beautiful fort. Amazing views. A MUST is to take a guide. He will charge you around. History of Shivaji maharaj is amazing!
There could be traffic jam near the entrance as our educated people park wherever they want! No one to monitor that. You need to take a car/cab and there is no other way of reaching here!
It can take easily 2 hours if you hire a guide.

It is little bit farther from the main centre and if you want to visit this waterfall you must have to come during monsoon season otherwise you can not see anything there or if you hire sightseeing by taxi Association then also they will not take you to this point unless it is the monsoon season so please keep that in mind before you go there.
