A family-friendly museum on a peaceful riverside site with friendly farm animals, working watermill and interactive displays. Explore fields and woodland walks, join in daily demonstrations and activities, and let the kids go wild in Playgrounds, pedal carts and trampolines. Take a trip by tractor, ride the narrow-gauge railway, explore the museum, or bounce around in the indoor soft play area. There is lots to see and do at Almond Valley indoors and out.

Food selection was great and had a lovely lunch in there. Highly recommended.

Have not visited since 2012. What a difference, bigger and better than before. Spent about 5 hours in the place and could have stayed longer easily. Next time we'll have to get there earlier. Had an enjoyable wander round looking at the animals. The bears and lions didn't want to come out but you were able to look in the windows and see them. My wife loved watching the otters playing about. I could have watched the wolves all day. Our daughter was scared of the crocodiles but returned for a second visit before leaving. Nice little cafe for a warm drink and some food. Really enjoyed the visit and won't leave it so long for the next visit.

We visited at the end of October 2017 for my Stag do of 9 people and a good few hours was had by all! The go Karting session ran smoothly and the staff were professional.
I booked a few months prior to the event and dealt mainly with Glen who had everything organised perfectly. The track was a decent size and the Go Karts were a lot faster than expected. The site was easy to find and everything ran smoothly. I would strongly recommend Xtreme Karting to anyone!

Linlithgow Palace

The magnificent ruin of a great Royal Palace set in its own park and beside Linlithgow Loch. A favoured residence of the Stewart kings and queens from James I (1406-37) onward. Building work commissioned by James I, III, IV, V and VI can be seen. The great hall and chapel are particularly fine. James V (1512) and Mary Queen of Scots (1542) were both born here. Surfaces inside the Palace are mainly stone slabs and small cobbles in the courtyard. The ticket office, shop and courtyard are accessible to visitors with disabilities. More mobile visitors should be able to access the first floor which forms the main part of the property. Access is available to Linlithgow Loch and extensive peel (park).

We have visited Linlithgow Palace many times and return most months.
The views from the outside are equal to the views from inside.
The friendly staff will give you a warm welcome and are very knowledgeable on the history of the building and the historical events
The Palace setting next to Linlithgow Loch is just amazing at any time of the year, parking is limited at busy times but there is plenty of parking just a short walk away. There is also good links by train and bus if you want to use public transport
Treat yourself to a pleasant walk around the Loch , it is about 2.5 Miles, the views of the Palace will take your breath away

Returned to watch Goodbye Christopher Robin, it was a mid Thursday afternoon so it was quiet bar 4 others, still as comfy and staff still as helpful.
Reasonably priced and an asset to Bathgate town centre, quite possibly the best thing to happen to the town for quite sometime, hopefully it'll reattract business back to the precinct,

We were taken to the Beecraigs restaurant for breakfast, which was excellent, and then put on our boots to walk it off. Deer and cattle to watch and good woodland walks. Lots of families at the adventure play park. A really nice place to spend two or three hours. We didn’t make it up the nearby hill which our hosts told us provided spectacular views. Next time definitely.

Potter Around

Reviewed By Gooey Events L - Livingston, United Kingdom

Have taken my little girl here many times, we always love it, we have done lots of fun things like pottery painting and deco-patching, making christmas decorations for the tree and decorating a cake stand also. I always take part with her. Not just a kids activity. They do a glass painting cocktail night which is really fun.
I’ve also taken friends and their children.
Price depends on you, you can spend a little or a little more depending on your budget, but you’re greeted with friendly staff and even a coffee machine to sit and enjoy.
You don’t pay to get in, but you do pay for what you make, very simple pricing structure.

when you first enter, there are ladies that give you information about the church and additional pamplets. Amazing stained glass windows and a beautifully carved wooden pulpit with 4 queens on it. Definitely stop here if you go into Linlithgow Palace.
