Went here today it's only open 12-2 for lunch and it's like three courses for £7.60 Monday to Friday which is actually a pretty good deal. Was actually very busy during this time so if your gonna go for lunch I suggest getting there earlier rather than later or you may not get a seat. Had chicken noodle soup which I usually get when I come and even get a takeaway. Was disappointed with that as it was like a ingredient was missing and didn't taste the same as normal. Got beef curry and fried rice the beef curry was ok but there wasn't that much rice. And the Ice cream was actually pretty good but overall it wasn't amazing no prawn crackers or that.

My partner and myself visited the karma last night .we hadnt been for about a year but as usual the minute you walk in the door the staff make you feel at home .all the staff are really friendly and really seem to enjoy working there . We were seated at a window seat at a table decked out in white linen and napkins and were served our drinks within a minute of ordering . We ordered haggis pakora and mussels in a mild curry sauce for starters .there were 6 big chunks of pakora with a balsamic dressed salad and a chilli sauce ( the haggis was really soft in a crispy batter and my missus said they were amazing) my mussels were easily the best ive ever tried .( the curry sauce they were in was fragrent and bursting with flavour .i highly recommend you try these) my missus ordered the south indian chilli chicken with pilou rice and i asked our waiter for his recommendation ( which turned out to be jairapor chicken ) with garlic nan . The guy knows his stuff ..both meals were amazing . The portions are massive and the quality of the food and service are probably the best weve ever experienced ..this place is a must if your a curry lover

Welcome to the Toby Carvery Bathgate Farm. When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings - including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're West Lothian's favourite carvery restaurant. Drop by and you'll find lots more on offer, including cooked breakfasts and tasty specials.
This is a nice clean good quality carvery. The food is great and value for money fantastic BUT, we arrived when it was not too busy about six tables. Waited about six mins before someone seated us and waited ages in drinks. Two waitresses running around like headless chickens trying to clean tables and talk to customers instead of dealing with new customers. I know this trade well and I found it strange that they walked past us to wipe a table down when there was empty tables there and we were wanting a seat. Then starting our drinks order and stopping half way through to talk to someone for a few mins. Sounds petty but they seemed unconcerned that we were waiting. Not very talkative to us and not very friendly vibe.
Anyway food was awesome fresh and tasty.
Been a few times and same thing but will try again and see if it improves.

The Terrace Restaurant can be found on the campus of West Lothian College, which is used for training chefs and food service students who will then take up places of employment in a wide variety of eateries across Scotland and further afield . The college would like to thank our customers for the tremendous support they have given us over many years. The Terrace Restaurant will open for lunches on 10th Oct 2016,Dinners are available from 8th Sept 2016 . Thanks for viewing our restaurant look forward to welcoming to Terrace.
Please remember this is part of a college and its the students that are making your food and serving your meals, and having gone their with friends on a recommendation we were so impressed. The service was excellent, the food superb, and the price was out of this world. You could have eaten a 3 course lunch with coffee for £10 - yes £10. I will be back.

Very nice food and a reasonably priced lunch menu with plenty of choice. Unfortunately only one waiter on duty though who was very nice but resulted in waiting 40 minutes for the starter. Would prefer faster service but can't fault the waiter's customer service.

Cafe/restaurant
four of us went for mother's day afternoon tea. good points first - plenty of cakes and doggy bags provided to take leftover cakes home. staff worked hard.
negative points - the bookings were organised in shifts and not even time had been allocated between shifts so a large queue formed waiting to come in while the earlier shift were finishing off and tables were cleared. Luckily it wasn't raining. we had to wait over half and hour for our afternoon to be served and a further ten minutes for tea and coffee. spoilt it. although plentiful sweets and cakes, the sandwiches were sad - not even a round of bread per person and they had obviously been made up well in advance and left sitting - the bread had gone dry and hard and the sandwiches were falling apart, looked like they had been thrown on the plate. scones so tiny they were only a mouthful and served without clotted cream. had to wait another age for milk before i could drink my coffee. overall it just felt like a badly organised production line that didn't work for us.

Have visited this delightful cafe I can highly recommend this cafe.
With friendly and helpful staff, customers are made to feel at home.
With a recent redecoration and refurnished with new customer toilet, this cafe has been a fixture in of Bathgate for years and remains in my option the best.

We booked the restaurant for a private family meal, which you can do if you have a party of 8 or more. This is a great idea if you have children, as they are not as confined as they would be in a busy restaurant....MoreGlad you guys enjoyed it thanks for reviewing you could do our Christmas menu in Dec ?

I have reviewed this restaurant in the past but as it continues to be excellent I will do so again, The atmosphere is lovely and friendly. Staff attentive. and the food is seriously good. Our food was brought promptly and this was in spite of them being very busy. I had brie parcels which were beyond good. I am going to now nitpick as just couple of things, They have got rid of tatty curtains and put up blinds but these were kept shut maybe open these or put up at times , Also get rid of dated revolving cake stand near the till , so eighties . If not been I recommend a visit

The Balbairdie prides itself on being a friendly, family run restaurant that focuses on deliverying quality food at reasonable prices. Our menu is comprised of home made family favourites along with our chef's specials which change regularly. Our options for children are from the house menu, just made in smaller portions, this could also be an option for the elderly if requested. Our steak pie and home made chicken goujons are always a winner with kids.
But nearby parking is difficult; the venue is dark and "basic" and the food took a *long* time to arrive. To be fair to the delightfully "sparky" waitress she warned us of all the likely delays in advance so can't fault her in any way.
My fish and chips took quite a while to arrive but it was beautifully cooked with a light batter. I expected "chips" as that was what was stated in the menu but they were really "French fries". Not unpleasant in any way but far too thin to be "chips". Coffee was simply instant coffee.
I wish I could give a better review ..
