It took more or less 2 hours by car from our guesthouse. Quite long but when we arrived, we loved the beach. Our children played with the weaves and built mini Mountains from the sand. It was fun. My husband and I took a walk to go up and see the beach from above. We left the beach around 12 because it was becoming too hot for us. Note: There are some street food and small warung near the beach with affordable price. There are small shops that sell clothing in case you don't bring any change. Some toilets are also available (quite clean but not modern). We can rent a place under a big umbrella for IDR 20.000 (unlimited time).

Pok Tunggal is one of the beach that we can visit in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. There are several beach located in the same coastline. Such as Pantai Pulang Syawal/Indrayanti, krakal, sadranan and others. This is famous cause one of the rare trees, called duras/pok tunggal. The beach is also clean, white sand and clear water. Not recommend for swimming, cause of the rocks and big wave. In the east part of the beach, there is a small hill that can be climbed. You can also find a hotel near the beach to stay. Some of local resto are also available near the beach. Have some fun in this beach ✌️

It is one of the more less-crowded beach in gunung kidul. View is nice, there is a spot without reef that you could be swam in. Overall is a nice beach

Perhaps it's because we reached in the afternoon, it was really hot and there were lots of local tourists. I didn't enjoy myself at all. It was difficult to see the waterfall too and the rocks were quite sharp.
I don’t recommend the place because the view isn’t spectacular and there are too many people.

I came here over the weekend with my host from Wake Up Homestay and it was a nice 90 minutes hike to the top. I like how well kept the place is with clear signs on where to go. It's popular with locals as well who are looking for a night camping out.
I even saw the team which is responsible to keep the place clean. They were carrying the garbage bags up and picking up the bits and pieces that irresponsible hikers left behind.
Definitely worth a visit if you would love to see the greener side of Yogyakarta.

This beach is very beautiful, clean and has very nice wave and definitely a perfect place for photography. The snorkeling spot is filled with rocks and corals BUT you can definitely see some really beautiful and colourful fishes here. There are enough food stalls around this area for you to choose from and the prices here are still very reasonable. Go for it and have a gala time there.

The route is quite short, but the view is breathtaking, especially the first horizontal cave.
The guides are very concerned about safety (good), and they have good knowledge about the cave. So you will get a good explanation about the cave type (horizontal/vertical), etc.
Please note that one of the biggest challenge is not the tubing itself. The post trekking is the most tiring part. The total high is around 70-80 m, with each step 25-40 cm high.
Changing/Shower room is available, but the number is limited, so there is a possibility that you will have to queue.
After you finished your tubing, you could buy a picture of yourself for 20k IDR.

Not quite as I expected. The cave exploration would take for about a half an hour.
This cave explored by using the calm flows of oyo river through 3 area, light, simmering and Dark area on a inside part of a truck wheel to float.
if you are expect to have an adventure, this attraction are not the suitable choice...

The beach is as beautiful as we heard, flanked by high ridges ; which you should climb in order to get the panaromic view. The water's clear crystal blue. It's quite far from the city so you need to get started early morning. The sun would be scorching hot by the time you get there. Beach was very clean, so was the water.
There isn't much to do if you do not plan to swim, and there's minimal facilities on the beach, which is good. Just a few refreshment stalls or vendors. For a beach this gorgeous, let's keep it that way!

Located at gunung kidul. Yogyakarta.
Quite difficult to find this beach.
But it worthed with the wide white sand beach perfect place for family/kids activity, and the food was delicious,
Recommended the small restaurant at the left side corner ( didn't remember the name) they made very delicious green chili sambals. The fried soy bean curd was good. The fried fish was fresh and yummy.
