Yogyakarta boasts stunning architecture and a truly spiritual sensibility. The ancient Hindu temples of Prambanan look like hand-drizzled sand castles, while the Sultan's palace is reminiscent of a gilded music box filled with jewels. Known for its arts and handicrafts, Yogyakarta is a cultural hub, a nerve center for traditional and modern puppetry.

Well, the restaurant looks fine, the staff is welcoming (but in think not completely aware of their role with customers and not completely well trained for service).
The meal was ok (but far from excellent) yet very well presented in our plates.
There are some indian dished, but they are not so tasty (maybe spices were not adequate or not quite fresh, i can't tell)
the desert menu was not inviting. So we skipped it.
Besides, there is some lack of professionalism in the service which spoiled a bit my experience : waiters passing in front of our table with a big box of used plates, and a nearby restaurant table that was used for sorting the mess.
The garden could be better lighted because i think it is worth it.
And the bill was quite high compared to other fine dining restaurant in Yogya.
So I was disappointed overall. Not in my top ten restaurant in Yogya.
Sorry, I am just trying to be fair.

The whole place has a very good vibe, it is family friendly, and there is a nice mixture of locals, expats and tourists. The staff is really nice and their English is pretty good. Being there feels like being home, truly.
Their bakery offers the best bread in town, and if you buy it after 8 pm, they give you a 50% discount! Don't go too late though, or it will be sold out! ;) They have very good pies and cakes as well, and even some nuts and cheese.
Their resto is really good, with a different dish of the day every single day, a good Indonesian variety, and the cuisine-of-the-world part of the menu (Indian dishes are my absolute favourites!), changing every now and then. Ask Nino for coffee, you won't regret!
The shop has a big assortment of souvenirs, some of them can only be found in there. I think they work with local artists, so you can find modern souvenirs, made with traditional materials, for example.
As I live here, I haven't used their homestay or travel agency, but they look always busy.
ViaVia is a perfect combo! Don't miss it!

Yes it is Italian, but this is REAL Italian! Delizioso! We had pizza peperoni, pasta pesto, pane d'aglio and of course... Tiramisu. My son loved the banana milkshake, and theres quite selection of yummy drink available. Good food, tasty, and affordable.
Great ambiance and music, definitely will be back here again and again whenever i am in town.

If you are vegetarian or mushroom lover need to try this. They substitute so many meat in Indonesia traditional dishes just with mushrooms. And the taste are so good. The place has good ambiance for family and friends gathering too.
If you don't like mushrooms don't worry Now they served more selection of food like fried chicken too.

PLEASE NOTE: ADVANCE BOOKING is STRICTLY NECESSARY, minimum 8-12 hours ahead. 'Cooking after booking' is the motto: we are not a normal restaurant but a beautiful private villa. Our ONLY and highly appreciated menu is our RIJSTTAFEL (rice table), with about 10 different Javanese dishes. The name rijsttafel is Dutch, the food is totally Indonesian ;-)
Last week we enjoyed a delicious lunch at their beautiful house! After a nice bicycle ride we were greated bij host Wim. He invited us to a nice table outside. TheSawah is well designed, nice decorated, green and quiet and the local staff very friendly. The indonesian dishes tasted delicious and we spend almost the whole afternoon eating, drinking, chatting and looking around. It's a special place just outside Yogja

This restaurant is very popular. So popular that people are willing to wait for their table because they're always full. Decoration wise the restaurant is pretty cool, and also unique. They have a small healthshop which is a haven for healrhjunkies like me, with localbrands essential oils, and allergy free food. The food is highly recommended and I can see why. The portion is large and are reasonably priced and also very very good. I ordered the duck confit it was crispy n juicy inside. The potato gratin as side dish is quite large and well seasoned. I try my brother's scallop dish and it was superb just melted in your mouth. All and all I had a very good time and great food and will be visiting again

This cafe is slightly hidden away, which makes it a lovely spot for a quiet breakfast. We both had banana pancakes and fresh juice. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was quick and tasty. The cafe has really funky art too.

Rosella is just on side of the Peugeot Car dealer (km 3,5) 900 meters from the extension Jl.Kabupaten and the ring-road North.
During our stay at Alamanda Villa (AV) from 25 Dec till 01 Jan 2018, we (my wife & I) dined a few times at this restaurant.
There is an interesting short walk from AV to the restaurant via some plots of padi
The restaurant is house-kept well, the premises are clean, the servers are polite & Richie (hope I got his name right) is passionate about the food that Rosella serves.
On 1 night, we ordered the Rijstafel which came complete with 18 to 20 small dishes.
Richie took great pains to describe each dish, explain which dish should go with another just so we could enjoy thrm to the max withour any clash of tastes.
We were also fortunate to celebrate the welcoming of 2018 at the Rosella.
At the stroke of midnight, fireworks were let off. This certainly contribured to the celebratory atmosphere for the moment.
Do dine there for a pkeasant food experience
