strokkur erupts about every 8 - 10 mins and goes ~ 25meters high. video is your best option for recording the event.
the geysir area is a bit underwhelming. the other geysers are dormant, there are a few hot Springs and mud pots. just not very interesting.

An interesting location - part of the Golden Circle tour - café and facilities nearby. A brief walk from parking area. Read safety sign and avoid risk of testing water temperature. Need patience to capture the various stages of the geyser blowing - entertaining.

Bruarfoss Waterfall is hard to find, but worth the hunt. Not located on many maps or in travel books, use google maps or a god device to try and track down how best to reach. There is a small trail, and a few fences to climb over. You do have to park on public streets, so be kind and don’t block anyone’s driveway or cause a traffic issue.

This was our first stop during Golden Circle Tour. It is a nice place to start the attractions tour but for me which I saw hundred of similar Waterfalls was nothing spectacular. We took nice pictures and we went closer to the waterfall but it did not impress us very much!

Amazing views of the Waterfalls with various viewing platforms. Some with a lot of stairs but others you can walk to quite easily. Very windy so wrap up warm and keep hold of your camera as can quite easily be blown out of your hand. We visited at the end of March where snow was around the edges but the waterfall was in full flow. Free toilets in the main block don't use the ones where you have to pay. If you like the views you can easily pass a hour here if you don't mind the wind.

This experience was very exciting! This jet boat is an incredible way to see the beautiful river and get your adrenaline pumping! We loved our time with Iceland Riveret! Speeding up and down the river was exhilarating beyond measure, especially when we did all the spins!!! Hold on tight for the highlight of your trip to Iceland! Helmets, gloves and river jet suits are all provided. Loved it!

Right between the dramatic rift valley of Þingvellir National Park and the thunderous Gullfoss waterfall is this essential Golden Circle stop, a geothermal area that contains hot Springs, bubbling mud pots, and fumaroles which gives you a palpable sense of how unsettling the earth can be as it forms and reforms its relatively young crust. It's an area much like Old Faithful in Yellowstone where that legendary geyser spouts almost every hour or Rotorua on the North Island of New Zealand. In fact, the chief attraction here is Strokkur, a geyser that shoots up to 100 feet every six to eight minutes like clockwork.
That's why you see a constant crowd around it waiting to videotape the eruption. The irony is that the better view is much further away where you can see the entire scope of the geyser when it erupts. Walkways help you get around, but the tourists with the selfie sticks really need to make new friends to take their pictures. The photogenic sulfur ponds have a deep azure blue tone to them, and the steam from the hot Springs give a sense of what Dante's inferno must be like. Most people park in the lot across the road where a shopping center attracts weary travelers. Not me. I've got a waterfall to see before 6PM.

Like many tourists I was driving through the countryside to see Geysir, Thingvellir and Gullfoss. I had come across a few golf courses along the way without stopping - I had no clubs, hadn't planned to play, wasn't sure I had the time, and certainly wasn't dressed for typical golf. But I was struck by the name 'Geysir Golf Course' just as I exited a stop to visit Iceland's (if not the world's) most famous active geyser. I pulled in to see what the pro shop might hold for ball markers/towels/etc. when I met the owner of the course preparing to do some golf course maintenance. She was incredibly kind and helped me understand the full landscape of golf in Iceland (many more courses then you might think) and let me know I'd be welcome despite my sweatshirt/jeans attire. I was concerned I didn't have enough time and she gave me fully accurate info about how long it might take a single to play the nine. I was the only one on the course except for an elderly husband/wife from Iceland who let me know it was in fact one of the most beautiful, if not underrated, courses on the island. In the end, I needed to purchase a 9-hole round, rental clubs (not sure if there was a charge but I think there was), pull cart (free), tees (free), four golf balls (I'm a 9-handicap and still managed to lose two) and chose to purchase a ball market/divot tool set and a Viking beer, and the total came to less than $80 USD. Would have been much less expensive if you came prepared to play.
As many of the holes' names that I could recognize were named after nearby geysers, and somewhat magically on nearly all of the holes you could you see the largest nearby geyser erupting. There is a lovely river that runs through the course and you are surrounded, seemingly on all sides, by Mountains.
It was a wonderful experience and my only regret is that I didn't have time to play the 9 holes a second time.

The Golden Circle is a must-do for anyone traveling in Iceland. Hits many key sights: Waterfalls, lava fields, Pingvellir National Park, geysirs. Our guide, Ryna (sp?), was very friendly and insiteful. She even sang to us in church at the last sight. Grayline was extremely accommodating and allowed us to change our tour date twice with no extra charges or problems.

The Secret Lagoon natural pool is located in the village of Fludir in the Golden Circle area. The historical surroundings have been kept natural and simple for a unique and authentic experience. The pool is surrounded by several hot Springs, including a little geyser, providing the pool with fresh warm water, maintaining a temperature of 38-40 °C throughout the year. In the winter the northern lights can often be seen in the area and what better way to experience the light show than relaxing in the warm water surrounded by the steam from the earth? The Lagoon offers brand new facilities next the hot spring with showers, bar and eating area. Food is not served daily but can be arranged for groups when arranged in advance. Easy to get to at the end of the 'Golden Circle' after Gulfoss (about 30 minute drive) .... it's a no frills location but also not heavily commercialised nor excessively costly......
The website suggests you must pre-book - we turned up 'on spec' at about 5.30pm last Thursday and were welcomed with a smile and advised of course we can come in (obviously, if they're busy, and you don't book, you won't get in!)
You enter into a simple reception area, which has one cash till for entrance into the pool and drinks (non alcoholic as well as beer, cider and wine)
TOP TIP: If you forget your swimming costume or towel - don't panic! They rent them out and I rented one - it was brand new, straight out of the packet!
Changing facilities are open (male and female separate obviously) , and the Icelanders really do expect you to shower naked before you go in...... my advice is don't panic - remember you are never going to see these people again - and they all have the same issues with their own bodies - so just get in there and do as the Icelanders do!
The pool itself is about the size of a 50m pool (on an irregular shape) with some bits much hotter than others. Yes, there is some slime around the edges - this is a natural pool after all..... but grab a couple of floats from the box as you come out of the changing room, grab a drink from reception and just bob about in the hot water - bliss!
