CHABLIS' VINEYARD AND CELLARS DISCOVERY. ALL YEAR ROUND.Private wine tours, 2 to 6 people.Come to discover the vineyard and its terroir, the vine growing and visit famous wineries to taste all the range of Chablis'wine.Franck, your guide will be happy to welcome you to share with you his knowledge of the vine to the wine.
Frank is an incredibly knowledgeable sommelier and he loves to share his encyclopedic knowledge. I would have to say Chablis Vititours was the best tour we took by a clear country mile.
Frank will take you all over the Chablis area and by the end of the tour you will not only have new and useful knowledge about Chablis, but you will have also tasted a range of different Chablis.
In summary a tour I would highly recommend.

Although this historic hospital, which dates back to the 1400s, still functions as a retirement home, its primary significance now lies as a tourist attraction.
This is a wonderful place to visit. Steeped in history, this building functioned as a hospital for over 500 years. The self-guided tour is wonderful, much better than I remembered during my last visit 15 years ago, with incredible ancient art cloistered at the end. The free audio guides, available in English, are extremely informative and well done.

Under the wing of the Guardian Angel, and in a relaxed atmosphere come and taste Burgundy wines with friends or family. You will be able to sit and enjoy learning a lot about wines, "terroir" and Tradition with Pierre and Nicole. You will also find gourmet regional produces and dishes prepared in Burgundy, foies gras... This place is special. You will not only pass by, you will lounge around .
Following TripAdvisor ratings we went to this place around noon with all other options closed because of the time of the day or simply summer vacation.
It was no mistake and one of the best tasting experiences ever!
We had a lot of fun with blind tasting some great and special burgundy wines accompanied with great food recommendations.
However, it wasn't only fun, but very educational too. We learned how to appreciate great burgundy wines and smell and taste nuances as well as about the economics and challenges of wine production in the region.
We will definitely return for more :-)

The Abbey of Fontenay was founded by Saint Bernard in 1118. It is one of the oldest Cistercian abbeys in Europe. The Romanesque architecture offers a remarkable unity to all buildings remained intact since the Middle Ages. The Abbey was transformed into a paper mill after the French Revolution by the family Montgolfier and was bought back in 1906 by Edouard Aynard, the ancestor of the present owners who continue on safeguarding this masterpiece of Romanesque art. The old Abbey of Fontenay (12th century) was one of the first monuments to be inscribed on the Unesco world heritage list. This classification has distinguished the exceptional value of Fontenay and its environment. Free Parking and gift shop.
The monastery's buildings are beautifully restored. The Gardens are also beautiful, but one cannot access many buildings, which is a pity. A lot is private, also parts of the Gardens are closed for the public. The guided tours are in French and beside that they are just a few notes on each building. Maybe an audio guided tour in several languages would be a good idea. I really liked the Gardens and the calmness of the buildings but since there was not much information given, I was more enjoying the atmosphere than knowing about the history and functions. There were also not many park benches to enjoy the Gardens. Nevertheless, I can recommend visiting this place, but only if the weather is good.

We had stopped at Ornans to buy supplies for a picnic. The shopkeeper at Epicerie de 4 Rues was friendly and suggested this place. From Ornans, it is about a 20 minute drive to Nans-sous-Sainte Anne. When we got there, we followed the signs to the Source du Lison. We found a picnic area with plastic tables and chairs. Beyond that is a path leading to the Waterfalls. Although one can climb up to the top of the falls, we did not. There is also a path behind the falls which takes about an hour to walk through.
This area makes a nice drive. Plenty of pretty scenery, with Mountains alternating with meadows.

Deep in the Forests of northern Burgundy, a team of master-builders is building a C13th castle from scratch.
A great project with a lot going on. You can see all the medieval skills being worked in front of you. The castle is quite well progressed. Unfortunately, the English translation was a little sporadic, it would've been nice to learn a little more about the project and how long it's taken so far etc. We had a nice lunch in the cafe.

A stunning valley cut from the limestone, the Reculee de Baume les Messieurs would be worth a visit even if there weren't other places to visit there, such as the Abbey. Between Besacon and Poligny, this is worth the detour (which is along a lovely stretch of winding road).

This 12th-century structure, famous as the marriage site of Louis IX in 1234, is the oldest of the magnificent Gothic cathedrals in France.
A beautiful Cathedral with some fine windows, especially those above the Becket monument. Architecturally important, this is a less visited Cathedral, but merits close attention. This was one of the most powerful cathedrals in christendom. Admire the internal window in the chancel. You'll find it again in the palace if you list, and you should, the museum.
A beautiful history Cathedral in a lovely town.
