Some towns have peach festivals. Some have blueberry festivals. Some even have onion festivals. All of those are nice, but we think Tubingen made the right call in hosting a chocolate festival. It’s the biggest in Europe and is held in early December. At any time of year, travelers will enjoy exploring this sweet-toothed university town.

I dined here with some work colleagues when in Tubingen for training. I tried the beer flight as well as a wild boar stew that was amazing. Really enjoyed the experience!

We dropped in for a late dinner (21:30) and were delighted by the friendly welcome and in general the friendly service, also the nice decor.
We both ordered pasta dishes, which came quickly, in fact a bit too quickly to be a relaxed dinner. The food tasted good but it fell short of being great. (Perhaps we were spoiled by the excellent restaurant we recently visited in Nürnberg). Somehow it appeared hastily prepared and not lovingly made from scratch.
The panna cotta for dessert tasted good but was so soft the waitress has to apologise for it.
Overall the experience was okay, and in fact the food fair for the pretty good price (30EUR for two main courses, a shared dessert, a beer and a mineral water). Just not the Italian where you would say "we must go back".
If you find my review helpful, I would appreciate your vote.

First the good news: parking is easy, the decor is attractive, there is a small outside area for summer dining, and the four barrel-aged wines on the list (e.g. Banfi Chianti Riserva), priced in the low twenties, offer good value. There is a long seasonal menu with some interesting choices, shown with prices on the website, and an even longer one of Italian standards, unpriced on the website but offered at reasonable prices. Service was friendly.
The problem at our meal was the standard of cooking. A redeeming feature of Salmone agli aromi with spaghetti was the fresh tarragon in the cream sauce, but the large plate of pasta and the sea of fatty sauce, on the point of curdling, was far from appetising, and the fish was overcooked. Similarly, a saving grace of Pappardelle with Pfifferlinge in sage butter was the shavings of fresh truffle but again the amount of fatty sauce made the dish heavy and unbalanced.
In summary: good value if you're hungry, but fine cooking it isn't.

this is good for a snack of falafel and other middle east dishes - well done, fresh and excellent. Not a restaurant - rather a place to fetch some quick and delicious food. There is a sister restaurant on the Blue Bridge - this is a place to hang out.

Disclaimer 1: I studied in Tübingen and have been to the restaurant 2-3 times back then and it was always very good -- so my experience this time may be a one-off
Disclaimer 2: We didn't give feedback as we were there and therefore didn't give them a chance to make up for it. Our bad.
Review: well, the views from the Terrace are great. Lovely setting for a romantic dinner. Service was kind and friendly.. but also a bit forgetful and inattentive. Also, one main dish was mixed up -- we got the ox meat twice instead of one fish and one ox.. and they asked us if we'd just take it instead. We said yes because we didn't want to wait..
Last but most importantly, the food wasn't good. Honestly, I couldn't finish the ox meat -- it was tough and tasteless, but soaked in a very mediocre horseradish sauce. Others in our group had 'maultaschen' which were better, but still no better than average.

Local residents recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We took our friends and enjoyed a special evening together. The ambience is welcoming. Dressing up or down is fine. Enough soft furnishings help hearing. We sampled all courses; everything, including the fish, was delicious. The food is Italian.

You should not go to Weinstube Forelle if you are in a hurry, but our party of four was very happy with our meals. The other couple had been there before and wanted to return. The name is appropriate - both the wine list and the trout (Forelle in German) are excellent. The servers were friendly and attentive, but the kitchen does take its time. We all though it was worth waiting for.

Excellent overall experience!
We were here on a Sunday afternoon.
The decor is very cool and chic situated in a large rustic room with big mix and match wood tables.
The people that work here were so professional, welcoming, attentive and nice!
Lastly and most importantly, the food was excellent!
My husband had a free range steak where the meat came from Spain. It was a tasty hunk with a big side of fresh asparagus and homemade roasted potatoes.
I had a grilled Dorado fish with fresh vegetables and potatoes. The waiter brought a fish tray out earlier for me to pick which one I wanted! I loved that especially because I knew they were all fresh!
Our Son ate free because all kids eat free on Sunday. He had snitzel and fries. He said it was the best snitzel he has ever had.
We finished our dinner off with a big dessert platter: pannacotta with strawberry sauce, white mousse, chocolate mousse and a hunk of Greek yogurt over an orange drizzled with honey! All were so delicious!
Also, there wine offerings and espresso, excellent as well!
We will definitely be back and recommend this place!
