In a fantastic location above the Lake Fuschl, hidden between trees and Mountains lies the Sheraton Fuschlsee-Salzburg Hotel Jagdhof with its restaurant Jagdhof. Enjoy regional delicacies in our Jagdhofstuben to your heart's content, where fresh game dishes, typical Austrian delicacies, as well as whole smoked trout and char are served from the in-house Schloss Fuschl Fishery.

A pleasant outside drinking area right on the lake shore, some light snacks served from the kitchen. The restaurant was fine and the menu varied and fairly priced. Not unreasonably the lake view tables in the dining room were reserved for residents; I am averse to eating hot food out doors as it gets cold faster than I can eat!

The food in this place was excellent but the service was... well... confusing! When we walked in we were greeted by a young man who asked if we had reserved. I said we had and gave my name. I gave it to him and he asked for my surname. I told him I only reserved under my first name. He looked... perturbed, slightly annoyed, but found our table. It took a while for anyone to notice us but eventually we ordered from the one of the host of pretty waitresses, all dressed in Austrian costume. We had a lovely meal and things only started to go wrong when we ordered dessert. I had seen a plate pass the table with a small sample of 3/4 desserts on it, and asked if this was something they could do, a single portion of mixed desserts, to share with my daughter. They said yes. Great! So we ordered it. When it came it was HUGE, like the size of 3 desserts. I called our waitress over and asked if this was really only one dessert, and she said yes, it was just a bit larger as some things (like tiramisu' in a glass) could not really be divided. But when the bill came, predictably. we had been charged for 3 desserts. We didn't make a fuss as the food was good but as the waiter cleared our (empty!) plate he said: "Ït wasn't too large to finish huh?" You know what? Being stung for 3 desserts and mocked on top of it means I won't go back here, however good the food.

The place is quite hard to find since it is located off major roads, so make your you have studied the directions on their website. When you reach the small restaurant you will be rewarded by a cozy place with a nice view and delicious food. The owners put a lot of effort into small details that make you stay very special.
If you are searching for a place for a romantic dinner you have found it. The offer of different Fondues and other specialties leave nothing to be desired. (The menu can be found on the website as well)

We used recommendations from this site and as luck would have it, the restaurant was very close to our hotel. We were delighted with the food, the wine and the service. The younger waitresses had trouble with English but the owner's wife has enough charm and English to make up for it. We both speak German but the menu is hand written and needs some explanation. Not the cheapest meal we've had but the best on our trip so far.

We have now used this Restaurant on about a dozen occasions and we have never been given a sub or below standard meal, The service is nothing short of immaculate and the staff are just wonderful. I suppose the only downside when the weather is warm, is the lack of Air conditioning. However bearing in mind how cold it can get during the winter Months can fully understand as to why this has not been installed as yet. One of the things that I particularly like is the amount of space between tables and chairs, which allow all to move around and also avoids any intrusion into personal space.
Lovely food, by lovely staff, make a great evening out.
Thank you

We visited on a summer's evening and were very glad to catch the setting sun's rays on the towering cliffs behind the hotel. We were also glad we'd reserved, as it was full to bursting. Our party enjoyed the attentive service in the traditional decor, and the wide menu of traditional dishes. There's a good choice of fish, steaks and schnitzels, and we tested them to the full - the wine list of good too. We enjoyed possibly the best ever Schnitzel Cordon Bleu and Zwiebelrostrbraten, and the Rheinankerfilet too... We wish we lived nearby as it would become a regular haunt! Not expensive, either.

We visited this restaurant for the third year in a row and were again not disappointed. We had the traditional roast goose with beautifully prepared red cabbage and bread dumpling, plus wine, dessert and coffee. Friendly and courteous staff made the visit particularly enjoyable. High quality food at a very reasonable price (€66 for the two of us on Christmas Day).
