Fine dining located on the waterfront in Esperanza. Innovative cuisine with lots of flavors. Featured items include fresh local seafood, specialty cocktails, and local greens. Vegan and vegetarian items also available.
I don't understand the good reviews for this place. The food is good until we received a rare piece of pork that was severely undercooked. We turned it back and the owner promptly informed us that there were articles written 10 years ago how red pork is ok to eat (isn't the customer always right?). She then proceeded to say to order another meal as she didn't want us to be hungry. Assuming that would be comped we complied and were charged for everything and further harassed by staff when questioning why we were being charged for their mistake. Worst experience in a restaurant I have ever had in my life (they threatened to call the police when we refused to pay for their mistake as well saying that this is the Spanish police and you don't want to mess with them). What a joke.

Bananas is known as the "Island Meeting Place". We are on island time, which means no worry, no hassle. People from all over come here to drink, eat and people watch. So come on in and have a beer...how about a frozen pina colada? Whatever your poison, let our friendly servers be your host. Want a burger? We have the best burgers in the Caribbean. We also have great wings, huge salads, new vegetarian and vegan entrees and more. We are happy to announce that we have expanded the outside Seating area for your enjoyment. New menu items, new drinks and new Seating make Bananas your new “old favorite hangout”. Come join us for happy hour Thursday nights UPSTAIRS from 5-7pm: free snacks and a chance to win your bar tab…what could be better?
Place was destroyed but completely redone. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Offers many choices on the menu. Highly recommend.

Dont Forget Our Full Bar Before U Fly!
Somehow trying to avoid watching the inauguration I ended up here - eating delicious fried pork dumplings watching the stupid inauguration. Delicious dumplings - place is pretty overpriced but after snorkeling at Mosquito Pier their cold beer and really good dumplings hit the spot. Also stopped for breakfast - while guy is super nice and there is no other option just know - two egg sandwiches and a Dixie Cup sized coffee was $19. But Lyman is nice (Green Bay fan I think) and there are parrots.

Dinner tonight at Trade Winds was great from start to finish. The outdoor Seating gives you a fantastic view of the Esperanza harbor and the Malecon. Staff is outgoing, friendly and offers great advice regarding menu options. The menu is quite extensive and truly offers something for everyone. We enjoyed the conch fritter appetizer, a local favorite. My husband said his whole yellowtail snapper was the best he's had on the island. My daughter and I enjoyed the sea scallops but I felt $28 was a bit overpriced as we each got 3 scallops. :( The flourless chocolate cake was a-ma-zing!!! Overall a great meal with a fantastic view. Would recommend and also return.

Great breakfast, but most of all GREAT service! We were greeted by Joe (known locally as "Barefoot Joe") who really went out of his way to making sure that everthing was ok on a rainy morning. Great french toasts and coffee was really good which had refill. My wife loved the breakfast potatoes. More on the pricey side but definitely would recommend.

I tried to look for a good meal at this place, but the options weren't great. Mostly it has sandwiches and burgers. I ordered rice and beans it was even cold and with none puertorrican tastes. It wasn't a great option to have a great meal. In the outside the place looks great but you go in, its not so good looking.

Affordably priced -- by Vieques standards -- cafe and bakery with a large air conditioned Seating area. Decent espresso-based coffee drinks. Lots of choice of egg dishes, served with fresh bread, or Latin-style sandwiches (think ham, cheese, pork, etc.). Service isn't fast, but efficient enough. Probably one of the top places to grab coffee, breakfast or a Sandwich to go on the island. Nice mix of tourists and Puerto Ricans.

This non- assuming outdoor type place is a must visit --- especially for lunch or early dinner.
I love love the tasty pastelillos. Yesterday we went and ordered them and then took them to the beach. Crabmeat filled types but they have different ones. Also love their shrimp salad. Casual place but don't let it fool you. It is authentic and home cooked! Small place with a relaxed atmosphere.
