A group of 8 of us hired bikes from Charlotte. Charlotte was very friendly and organized. Her bikes were extremely comfortable and we had a great day out cycling around the vineyards.

A great location for lunch when in Hawkes Bay, great food, very good service and delicious wines, served on a beautiful Terrace overlooking the vines and ocean. We followed the recommendations on the food/wine combinations and they worked very well. Not the largest of food portions, but well thought out flavours and good quality ingredients made this a memorable meal. It’s fairly pricey, but worth it.

A unique personal collection of over 400 Classic British cars, commercials and motoring memorabilia. Please note there may be some dust and oil among the cars as the owner is not as young as he was and cannot get around them as often as he would like. Volunteer cleaners very welcome!

Ian Hope's British Car Museum is tucked neatly into a huge shed/barn in Te Awanga, a sleepy hollow near Napier. It is his lifetime's collection of British vehicles and no car enthusiast should miss it when visiting the area. We enjoyed our tasting here.
For so long we have gone past on the wrong day - they are open weekends only.
Finally made it and it was well worth while.
The guy giving the tasting (sorry I can't remember your name) was very knowledgeable and the tasting of some great wines was very relaxed.
We purchased a box full so were obviously quite taken by the quality and price.

Cape Kidnappers is an isolated promontory 90 minutes to the south of Napier. Only accessible on foot (a five hour walk over risky beach terrain) or by private tour, the Cape is the home of the world's largest accessible colony of Australasian gannets. The Cape is spectacular and worth a visit.

Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here. We've eaten here before on previous visits and again weren't disappointed. The crab and shrimp bisque was so tasty followed by a "small plate" of scallops with side orders of fries and salad. All helped down by a fantastic bottle of Clearview Black Blush. Beautiful surroundings with excellent service

We highly recommend the drive out to Clifton and a stop at the wool station. They have a nice shop of NZ woolens and a functioning shearing shed. The owner shears a sheep for visitors around 1:30 or 2:00 daily (check for times). The owner is very knowledgeable about the sheep industry which has moved from wool to meat. It a fascinating look at an important part of NZ's past economy. There is a nominal charge of $10 per person but well worth it. Stop here after a very good fish & chip lunch at the cafe next door. If you're a wine drinker, make sure to stop at Elephant Hill just down the road with fabulous syrah.

We have had several lessons with Jeremy Yates and Bronson Primer ,and we have all really enjoyed them. They give you really good lessons on land and then take into the surf to catch waves. All gear is provided.
Jeremy has represented New Zealand in surf competitions and Bronson is a fully qualified instructor, ( as is Jeremy )
The surf boards were the soft boards which save you get banged about by them.
I felt confident about the safety of the surf school.
Waimarama is a great beach to learn on with a beautiful island off shore.
