Chateau de l'Emperi

This museum is a legend in itself - born out of the passion of 2 brothers (the Brunons) for military history and collecting artefacts. Bestowed with a family fortune, they started collecting in 1911. One brother died on the battlefield during WW1, the surviving brother continued collecting and named the collection after both his and his brother's name. His one son was named after his dead brother and carried on the family tradition of collecting. At some stage their private mansion in Marseille could no longer hold all the items they had amassed. So, in the 1960s, it became a national collection part of the french army museum and housed in this wonderful medieval castle with the Brunons. Yet the collection continued until the passing of the Brunon son. Today the collection is still there. Its presentation has aged and would greatly benefit from some new display, but still it is incredibly rich, too rich maybe for the layman...so one may skip some incredible items - such as my favorite, the banner of the Berg lancers (Murat's personal regiment as duke of Berg), on it this incredible motto: "for glory, honor and the ladies" ...

Eglise St Michel

A pretty little church at the top of the village of Roussillon, so a fair uphill walk to get there, but well worth it. Built in Romanesque style in the 11th century, it is a lovely quiet cool place to sit and contemplate away from the rest of the touristy village.
Adjacent is a Belvedere from which there is a great view over the countryside.

Musee Nostradamus

Reviewed By Jindra S - Toronto, Australia

It was nice surprise on our visits, in rainy day, first visitors at 9am- Michael Nostradamus and us. You can feel the spirit. The tour is in English but no guide, just reproduction in every room ( 10 of them). Knowledge that this is the place where he died is powerful. €5 is fair price.
