My wife and I joined friends for an evening meal on Saturday 17th in the more formal restaurant at 9.00 (I prefer it in this section as it is much better for conversation) .
For starters we had the following....Salmon Fishcake, poached egg and tarragon Hollandaise £8.50....Lambs Kidneys with bacon, field mushrooms and jus £7.50 (simple but full of flavour...lovely).....Mussels £8.95.......Mains...Rib Eye with mushrooms, homemade twice fried chips and Diane sauce £19.50 (both cooked to perfection of one rare and one medium/rare)...Hake with rosti £16.95 (excellent)...Super Food Salad with Chicken £18.00.
I would have given a five review except for drinks pricing....250ml Sangiovese £6.15 (lovely)(okay)...G&T Bombay with Fever £5.65 and Hendricks with Fever £6.70 (overpriced...most restaurants now seem to all trying it with G&T).
The service throughout was attentive and pleasant..There is no service charge>

Friendly and intimate family run restaurant. Innovative English based cuisine prepared by chef/proprietor Doug Long. Changes to menu daily.Beautiful garden area for alfresco dining. Early evening and lunch Prix Fixe menu available. Open for Sunday lunch. Only 5 minutes away from Birmingham NEC, Genting Arena,Birmingham Airport and Rail station. Parking available.
My friend and I were recommended to visit the pub over the road but when our taxi dropped us off we noticed Longfellows and decided to pop in on the off chance they could accommodate us and we are so glad we did. The food, service and atmosphere were all first class. I had lamb shank on garlic mash and it was amazing.

Hampton Manor is the home to Peel’s restaurant where our food is inspired by our Victorian walled garden. The relationships we build allow us to gather the best produce from this island’s farms and shores. Our cellars showcase handcrafted organic and natural wines, and champion emerging British winemakers. Everything we bring to the table is honest, original and delicious.
Ate here as a post Christmas treat in early January. Our second visit, first being in September.
Overall, an excellent experience. We both have dietary requirements, and the menu was adapted for both of us. We had pre-dinner drinks and ‘snacks’ in the drawing room, before heading into the dining room.
The hotel is a lovely old building and the public rooms are beautiful. Even though the surroundings might seem a little formal, the whole atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming.
The food was excellent. Beautifully designed dishes that had been expertly cooked. Service was attentive but unobtrusive.
Definitely worthy of its Michelin star and we will be returning.
Only slight thing to bear in mind, on our first visit was a long wait for a taxi/Uber to collect us. Not the restaurant’s fault, but worth bearing in mind if you need to get back home for a specific time.

While on a business trip to the NEC and staying at the Sheldon Travelodge we asked for a recommendation for somewhere local and good to eat (walking distance due to it snowing badly). We hadn’t made a booking and it was busy, however they were very accommodating and found the two of us a table. During starters they politely asked if we could move to make a bigger table for new group. Personally I didn’t mind as they had accommodated us earlier and I was happy to help them accommodate a larger group now. We both had great meal (Highway chicken is recommended, the spices were tasty and a slow warmth appears moments after the first mouth full). I really enjoyed it.
The atmosphere is vibrant, staff polite and friendly, made us feel very welcome. We were both given complimentary Deserts at the end of our meal (probably to say thanks for moving tables earlier). All in all, we had a great enjoyable time and I’ll happily go back again next year. Thanks!

I don't think that this restaurant is listed on TA at the moment, and I would like to submit a review.
In the last week i have had the pleasure of visiting and sampling the delicious courses at Giovanni’s . I recommended the restaurant to an old friend from Scotland who has eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world he went on three consecutive nights during the recent Furniture show at the NEC . That in itself is the ultimate endorsement.

First time at this establishment whilst visiting friends. Small restaurant with very pleasant and attentive staff. Food was excellent - my wife and I shared the mixed platter starter and Chicken Tikka Bhuna with Naan bread. Nice large portions and absolutely delicious. From our experience, would highly recommend.

I visited for Valentine's and overall was satisfied with the experience. The staff at this family run restaurant are friendly and the service is good.
There was a set menu and I was disappointed that the options for each course were so limited. The food was generally good quality and substantial portions. In particular the sea bass was delicious.
The meal at £35.99 each I thought was expensive and drinks on top were also very pricey, surprising given the location of this venue.
The ambience of the evening could have been improved as the lighting was extremely bright and not `romantic'. There could have been candles at the tables instead and maybe some themed table decoration. We were also sat at a large round table for four which took away the feeling of `intimacy' desired for this occasion.

We went with two of my collages to this restaurant. I had tandoori chicken (just coming from India made me want more). The plate looked really good, and I was happy to hear, they had some pickle (Ajar), tough the looks and the pickle alone was not able to save the meal. Chicken itself was extremely dry and far from any tandoori ovens, as this was not grilled, perhaps prepared in a regular oven and prior to serving, it seemed to be just reheated. Place itself is cosy, I love the fact they used a big mirror to make a small room look much larger. The service was nice, no issues splitting our bill, food came fast and from the looks of it others enjoyed their meals. Also I was surprised that papadam was billed separately + the sauces for it where billed separately.
In conclusion I would dare to recommend this restaurant, but strongly advise to steer away from tandoori chicken.
