My husband & I spent 2 full days in Durmitor and had 1 kayaking trip in Lake Skadar with Vukoman. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives, not just for the great guiding, but more so for the kinship and generosity Vuk showed us. Originally, we were planning to just have a guide in Dumitor to take us hiking, white water rafting & Tara Canyon. Vuk & I spent at least 15 emails planning out our itinerary as we wanted to jam it all in. He was so kind and flexible through it all and really did all he could to make best itinerary possible for us.
When we arrived in Podgorica airport, Vuk met us there and graciously drove us up to Zabljak. We hiked Bobotuv Kuk the next day, went ziplining by Tara Bridge, visited Crno Jezero, rested at the hotel and then had dinner with a local family that Vuk set up. The next day we had a tour of Dumitor as we headed to white water rafting. After that, Vuk showed us one of his favorite monasteries and we had a quick beer at his favorite pubs before taking us to Lake Skadar at the house we were staying at in Vis. While in Vis, we decided to go on a kayaking tour with Undiscovered Montenegro and luckily Vuk was available. He took us on a trip where we visited two monasteries on Islands and then after he arranged a wine tasting tour at Buk.
As a guide, Vuk excelled. He is communicative, organized, pushes himself to get all our desires in, including more recommendations, and very competent in watching us to make sure, frankly, we did not die. :-) He is kind and watches out and tailors to the groups' physical capacities. Of his own, he is a genuine mountain man who can do anything! I don't know if he ever slept as he'd drop us off late, pick is up early, was still emailing us during the night to confirm itineraries and yet always had a smile on his face in the morning. However, The best memories I had were of our conversations. We clearly got to know Vuk very well in this period. The days (and drives) were long and the conversations meaningful. Vuk is a rare combination of quality traits: intelligent, insightful, introspective, perceptive, sincere, and humility... He is a man on integrity. He shared a lot of history of Montenegro, sprinkling in his own experiences and thoughts (always respectfully). Wherever we went, Vuk treated others with comradeship, even strangers. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to him when we left in Lake Skadar.
Vuk made our experience so meaningful and we are so lucky to have had him guide us. He not only showed us the beauty of Montenegro but of people as well.

We took a three hours trip and did what Jelena and our guide suggested us. It was a wonderful experience!. We went there early in the morning and the Lake was almost empty it was like magic. We are a family with two teenagers and both of them where deligthed. Our guide was great, with a very good knowledge of the lake and the history of the country. We saw many nice places and took a bath in the middle of the lake. I really recomend that you go with them if you go to Lake Skadar. Thanks for everything!

We took a boat trip as part of our hiking trip with Undiscovered Montenegro and it was one of the most beautiful boat rides of my life (and that's saying something because I live in Cornwall, UK!).
The views of the lake and Mountains were unreal, and there was so much wildlife around as well.

My name is Misko Lekovic and I am the 13th generation living in the village Godinje, the place that gives a different perspective of the Skadar lake National park. Join me and my family for our wines, brandies and liqueurs tasting. We can prepare homemade and local specialties for you. If you are into sightseeing and hiking I can take you on a tour and tell you all about the Godinje. We have great stories, you are welcome to visit us and hear it. Please do not forget to make a reservation before your visit. I am fluent in English.
The Godinje village is a curious place where the Lekovic family comes from. First written record of it goes back to mid thirteenth century and the unique architecture suggests it is older. Traditionally a village of farmers, fisherman and winemakers, once a bustling place packed with kids, donkeys and other loud forms of life - it is now largely deserted. After the Second World War the population fled en masse to cities in search of Television sets and easy living.
Today, a semi desolate village makes for a phenomenal day trip, as exotic as hunting big game in Tanzania and as unique as traveling India by train.
If you are in Montenegro, forego the pretend to be overcrowded fancy Beaches and book a trip to Godinje.
It's inexpensive too.

Kopitovic family settled in the village of Donji Brceli in Crmnica in the 15th century. We have a long history of grapevine cultivation, especially types like Vranac and Kratosija. Vineyards are situated in ideal altitude above the sea level exposed to the sun during many days of the year. Old tavern is part of our winery and is over 300 years old. In the old days it was used for production and st
I discovered this little gem through friend of a friend. There's a real family vibe of people that through generations produced vine for themselves and the family (300 years or so) and only now they opened it to public. It's surreal,it's genuine...it's beautiful....and the vine is QUALITY!

Over ten generations long family - tradition in wine making, in most famous wine region in Montenegro. Best position of vineyard for maturing the grapes and best position of wine cellar for guests to reach them easily.
This little place is not far off the main road around Lake Shkoder. Tasted some very good, award winning, locally produced wines here. The operators were very friendly and knowledgeable. They have tasting prices listed, but they never even mentioned this to us as we made it apparent we were going to buy some wine. If in the area, this place is worth dropping by for a good taste of Montenegrin wine.

We Are A Family That Started To Dear With The Tourism Industry Since 1978. We Currently Have 7 Boats
On the boat trip we experienced the grandeur of Skadar lake and incredible natural beauty within the natural park. Lake is full of life, sourrounded with the remains of monasteries, lotus blossoms, cormorants and lush vegetation which creates an amazing atmosphere that you must experience. The trip was one of the highlights on our trip in Montenegro.
