The only beach library in Europe. We have more than 3000 books, mainly in romanian but also in english, french and german. The books can be borrowed for 3 days with no costs, you only have to leave your name, email address and phone number. If you want to relax on the beach with the book, you can rent a sunbed for the day and enjoy the chill music and a cold drink from the beach bar.
If you aren't into nudism, please go on to another review. This is one of last paces where you can sunbathe, play volleyball or just sit back and relax in your birthday suit.
Fresh fruit drinks, beer and cocktails available from a friendly staff. They also have a small library with quite a variety in English, plus a large amount of books in Romanian. We come here every chance we get.

The Mangalia Mosque is the oldest in Romania and you can feel its importance through the Turkish community from the entrance, where a lady is selling many souvenirs and other nice Turkish items.
The interior mosque interior and the garden are nice, the entrance fee is small and you are allowed to enjoy the view from the top of the minaret.

A huge volume of water that so I am told has great wildlife and rare birds however it is extremely difficult to actually get to enjoy the lake because there is no access. You can view from a restaurant/hotel and from The Island archeological site however I was hoping to get close, maybe walk around the lake, do some birdwatching but despite asking 3 people we were told there is no access which is a shame as I am sure this could become a wonderful destination

Such a nice place and such an unacceptable WC/ toilet. You definitely have to change this! It's not ok to have such an ingenious local witch is so difficult to find nowadays, and to have such a dirty, bad smelling toilet (for money!!!!). No!
I would give 1*, but just because of the spirit and ingeniously name and local I give ***. Please, do something with this problem, and you'll have only to win.

The Callatis Archeology Museum should be the focal point of this lovely coastal sea coast town, but, unfortunately you can be dissapointed when you see th items displayed.
Indeed, there are some important antiquites, but the worst thing was that the most important one, the only papyrus found in Romania is not on display, but showing only some photos of it.
The only thing that I really enjoyed was the shape and the exterior of the building.

I started the open waters course with them so I can go on more interesting dives during my upcoming vacation and they're awesome! You'd expect a course to be boring because you're not there for the view, but not with these guys. They'll go way beyond the standard curriculum during dives and teach you lot more.

I like to spend some weekends in 2 May , not only for reasonable prices but also for special rustic atmosphere and good restaurants around.
If we want to go to another Beaches, in less than half an hour driving you have many other options.
There are many good pensions with affordable prices.

The stud farm is apparently one of the biggest in Europe. It was quite amazing seeing the huge number of horses and watching them running en made outside (especially the foals) is quite impressive.
The website suggests they do riding, carriage rides and organised tours. It certainly looked like that was the case when we visited. However, we visited on a Saturday morning in May and although we were able to look around (and were welcomed to do so) there was no organised tour, nothing in English and we were unable to do a carriage ride or pony riding as we had hoped. The website does not mention any closed period and I had emailed in advance but had not had a reply.
