My family of four, with two young boys, my husband and myself, recently enjoyed some of the many services provided at Remember Adventures. Our first adventure was renting a Surrey bicycle. We enjoyed a warm welcome for breakfast and got a spot outside on a deck overlooking their pollinator garden. Lots of beautiful flowers and sweet smells. The breakfast deals were very reasonable and my husband and I each had the all-you-can-eat toast, baked tomato and egg. Great coffee too!! It was fun to take the bike out on part of the Trans Canada trail and there were some great Lookouts along the way. And the snacks that go along with the bike deals are awesome!! We got to choose two snacks so we chose a homemade bean salad in a small container and the boys had organic fruit drinks. We finished biking before the two hour time as we were a little tired. The next afternoon we enjoyed the BEST blueberry pie I have ever tasted. Made with all organic ingredients. Inside the store, there is info in local attrations, along with books to puruse and games to play inside. What a great place to come across!! Hopefully we can come back here again some day!

The employees here are friendly and attentive. An excellent example of customer service at its finest, Arrived later in day and were allowed to tour the guest room above the train station and the accommodation in a caboose. I went to the Anna Swan Museum to learn more about the tallest woman in the world whose wedding dress was a gift from Queen Victoria, only to discover a gem of a genealogy centre in the back room. In a tiny room in the back, there is the most wonderful genealogy archive managed by Dale. He helped me so much in my quest. He also coaches volunteer in the area of genealogy.

Appleton Chocolates

Being in the heart of Maple and Wild Blueberry country it seemed only appropriate for someone to combine these delights. Today we use the same recipe to make 13 different and equally delicious, non-traditional truffle. After boiling up a large pot of maple syrup and sugar into our unique maple fondant, which is kind of like maple cream, we mix in wild blueberries, cherries, cranberries, ginger, dark rum, black currants, walnuts, and coffee and hand form into balls. On the same day they are rolled they get their first bath in delicious French Dark Chocolate, Belgian Milk Chocolate, or Belgian White Chocolate. After being hand dipped they sit to harden, generally sitting for a whole day. They get another thick coat of chocolate before resting once again and then being wrapped individually, by hand, in coloured foils.

This roof houses many things all as one... I am sure the chocolate is great but we stopped in for coffee/hot chocolate and a fresh baked good (date bar/brownie). Eclectic, fun and reasonably priced. They also have sandwiches for breakfast and lunch but we'd already ate. Good fun!
