An ancient Greek theater built in the third century.
This is a really stunning site and is certainly worthy of its UNESCO listing. Unfortunately there were far too many other people there when I visited for me to properly enjoy the experience, but it was still well worth visiting. This site has the advantage of closing later than the usual 3pm winter closing time, so you can take that into account when planning an itinerary in the area.

We had the occasion to get to know Yves today. He aggressively accosted us, lied about events and frankly made our visit quite awful and disappointing.

The site is of significant ancient importance and so worth a visit. No large structures remain but the outlines of the various temples and buildings are visible. Restoration work is continuing. Best to go early morning to avoid the heat. There are sufficent notices around the site to explain the purpose of each important building. Worth a visit if you have the time.

The museum was built in the early 1900s by the same man who excavated Epidauros and all the exhibits in the museum are from the site.
There isn't much to see here especially compared with some of the great museums you will see in Greece, but the lone Corinthian column that was buried and preserved here is in great shape and worth the trouble. Besides, its included in the price of the ticket and you came all this way.

Intetesting to see ancient ruins under water so close to shore. The stone structure of the building is clearly visible. Sufficient stones remain to give a good impression of the size and shape. The water is warm and crystal clear. You can see the structure even without snorkeling gear. There were lots of sea urchins and fish to be seen in the waters around the ruins. Would recommend sea shoes to avoid stepping on a sea urchin. The beach is small but there is a local resturant nearby to get drinks and a simple meal. They also provide sunchairs and umbrellas.

From the city, go to the port and you will find sing to "little theater". It is 5-10 minutes walk from the marina, along olive and orange fields.
The theater is small but very cute. We went there before going to see the "famous one" and it gives a good idea of how impressive the big one could be.
Beware during the walk, we was told that some wild dogs were walking there, and attacked people.
We did not meet any dog, but if you are going to the theater from this path, it is better to pay attention to dogs.

Really calm swimming beach just on the other side of the point of Epidavros town. (just keep walking past the restaurants on the boardwalk oceanfront Keep walking through the beach and you will reach another small cove and beach. Safe for children. One of the better Beaches in the region that is dominated by rocks and small cliffs along the coastline.

Since 1974 we create ceramics in ancient patterns, based on Greek mythology. With the proper infrastructure, high quality materials and state of the art practices, we are passionate to produce ceramics and potteries for decoration and for everyday use.
I stopped in this ceramic shop by luck on the way from Nafplio to Athens in Epidavros. I was immediately impressed by the big choice of goods. You can find all types of ceramics and ancient patterns, based on Greek mythology. However the most important for me was that everything was handmade and the owners were helpful and friendly. Everything I bought there is lovely and is a great choice as a gift or memory for family of friends.
