Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei

We caught the ferry from Cais do Sodre 3 Euro return, then 101 bus to the statue,( they are every 30 minutes).
The back ground music is lovely, however we were disappointed with the actual grounds - a bit rough under foot and no Gardens to speak of - in places it looked like a building site.
The statue of Christ is awesome and beautiful, looking down on you.
We didn't realise that there were steps on leaving the lift, before reaching the top, plus before actually going outside , when you reach the top of the steps, the floor unexpectedly slopes and I nearly fell ( hubby just caught me) - there should be either a change of floor colour or warning signs. Outside there are good views.

Um bar com decoração sixties e muita imaginação para reciclar coisas usadas, com boa música dos anos 80. Empregados simpáticos e uma razoável carta de vinhos para um bar.

The building that the Modern Art museum is in, is impressive to walk around. We went on Saturday and there was free admission to the museum. It was not crowded and had some very interesting pieces, including an exhibit on environmental issues from around the world. We are glad that we went there.

Transpraia

Reviewed By ISHKANDER - Manchester

This little train journey takes about 30 minutes to travel from Costa da Caparica Town Beach (at the southern end of the boardwalk) to the southern terminus at beach 20. It is a mini diesel train with two colourful carriages with wooden bench Seating. It trundels along stopping at each beach in turn. Many of the Beaches stops have bar/restaurants etc. Sone Beaches are used by Surfing / windsurfing enthousiasts and well worth a watch. You pay on board and the fare is about €7.50 return, but you can buy 10 single tickets for €30. Unless you hire a taxi or have a hire car, this is the only practical way to get to the quieter Beaches on this 20km long stretch of sand. As always, the further you go, the more tranquel (and clothing optional) it gets.

If you are looking for absolutely non-touristic places and roads - this one is a perfect option. It was our first experience on the E-Bike, but there is nothing to do, if you can ride a normal bike. Easily you reach a hill (actually it was just one light-uphill road on the way) and on the bike path, the E-bike will drive you. So, its not a sport, but you are free to talk and enjoy the small typical portuguese fishermen villages, pine forest and sandy beach. We even met the family of friends of Joana and had a chance to talk to them and observe the real life of local people. This was for us, as non-portuguese speaking persons one of the best chances to better understand this country. Beautiful nature, fresh air, some snacks and talks with local common people and bike. This is what this tour is about. THANK YOU JOANA, your project is really a treasure and we wish you success! And please say hello to Gato Preto and his family now from Russia.

This was my first introduction to Surfing, and really was a great way to do it. There wasn't any doubt that Keiran and Carlos were the right guys to be taught by. Beautiful beach, great waves, and Sunshine make for a perfect combination. Not only was the Surfing part good, but they can have the craic as well. If you are in Lisbon for a few days or more, then book a day of Surfing with Lisbon Surf Tours, you won't regret it.
