We visited Bistro Novo for the first time, three weeks ago, with a party of six. The façade doesn't reveal anything about what is hidden behind it (you almost wouldn't go in when walking by)? Warm welcome, excellent service. Finally a restaurant where the chef does not try to synchronize service at your table with the service at other tables! We really had the feeling as if we were regulars.
Excellent food, good rythm, beautiful collection of famous menus on the walls, ... in one word: a perfect evening! For a very affordable price !
Congratulations to the owners. We'll be back !

I ate here as part of a large group (30 +) for lunch. We were offered a choice of two starters and two main courses. I had the steak for my main which was one of the best steaks i have ever had, pretty impressive given how big a group we were.
The service was efficient, friendly impeccable and everyone's food arrived on time and all left remarking what a fantastic lunch they had just enjoyed. The restaurant itself is quite atmospheric and to get to the toilets involves a real Lion Witch and Wardrobe type experience as you seem to enter a cupboard (don't worry it is actually a doorway into a bigger area disguised as a cupboard).
A fantastic place, highly recommended.

This restaurant has a great setting and offers wonderful service in the heart of Roeselare. The Terrace is absolutely perfect when the weather is right!

This restaurant is very popular in Roeselare, is in good location just a bit away from the main square of the city but certainly walkable. This is our first time coming to the place, we have a good welcome from one of the staff.
Coming with family and friends, we have a separate room. Arrived at noon while waiting with other guests we got a welcome drink. The weather was good we can sit outside for pre-dinner drink while inside there were reception tables ready but seems everyone like to sit outside. Outdoor sitting wasn't too big but just enough for us
We have our aperitif with apetizers served outside. We already have the menus, everyone got the same dish beef, except me, I don't eat beef meat. We have an hour to enjoy the aperitif and appetizer, then, we have to sit inside where the meal is served
For entree we got a plate with asparagus, scallop and salmon, good combination. For main dish, I have duck meat while the others have beef, the plate is served with steam tomato, bean and sauce in it, french fries serve separately in a bowl
For dessert we have a plate of freshly baked apple cake served with a scoop ice cream on top decorated with strawberry and almond flakes. Personally, the plate dessert was one of my favourite, I find the menu dish less worth the price. The food served nicely in a plate, that's what counts
This is a 1 star Michelin restaurant, I find it not worth for a star rating . The interior of this restaurant has nicely atmosphere with plenty of spotlights, makes the room so attractive. Is not cheap place to dine but the service and quality of the food is what matters

I had a relaxed evening tapas/cocktail meal with a friend here. The style is modern and very tasty with the menu offering two amounts of tapas (we took the smaller and it was still plenty). I have a shellfish allergy which didn't faze them at all - the shellfish dish was substituted with no problem for something I could eat (was delicious). The cocktails were great - I tried an old fashioned and a long island iced tea, both exactly as I'd hoped. I would definitely come back here.

Next to his French training and kitchen the chef also has an excellent selection of tapas.
I really don't get how this place ended up with this rating, TrAv ratings tend to be on the higher side but this is especially strange. Two of us had a steak which was, well let's just say a bit hard to chew down your throat. The steak tartare had a bit of a funny color, was a bit roughly chopped to my taste but you might prefer it and had a good salad accompanying it, taste itself not that good. Before we proceed to the more negative aspects I might add they had a great bear selection and the service was absolutely adequate. Now I'm not going to compare the atmosphere to that of a funeral home though one might feel inclined to do so after visiting on a more quiet night. But what I am going to do is mention the more serious thing about this visit, besides the bizarre prices (these definitely tasted like $10 meals), was that our fourth member was forced to taste the mediocre tuna steak for the second time when he had to jump out of his bed at 03:00 to empty his stomach in the hotel toilet.
p.s. He kindly contacted the restaurant through their email warning them there might be something up with their tuna, specifically mentioning that he was not looking for compensation, but they have so far declined to comment on this issue :D

Being invited by a local, this restaurant was a real surprise! Superb kitchen, worth a 'Michelin Star'. Many small bites in the 'Orangerie' already set the scene before we went to the restaurant. Excellent service, not too expensive (€125 for 2 persons - suggestion menu).
The interior is very nice renovated, but from the street, this house would need a small 'refurbishment' to live up to the level of its kitchen :-)
