Discover how 300 years of farming and rural home life have shaped and altered Scotland's countryside. Tour the period farmhouse for a sense of what living on a farm was really like more than 50 years ago, and meet the animals on the historic working farm: Ayrshire cows, Tamworth pigs, Scots dumpy hens, black-faced sheep and Clydesdale horses.
The National Museum of Rural Life is a fascinating look into the past of farm life. The entry fee was quite reasonable for the hours of learning about how farmers of the past made their living. The exhibits were very interesting covering the clothing, animals, farm tools and machinery. A bumpy ride to the house and farm buildings puts you in the right mood as you head to the farm house. The life of this particular farm is fascinating and our guide Graeme Cumming brought it to life in the tour of the farm house. A perfect preserved farm house, each room a beautiful step into the past. The animals are delightful and well cared for. An extra opportunity for children to learn about the difficult life of a farmer. I recommend seeing the farm in every season to full appreciate our wonderful past.
There is also a delight gift shop and tea shop.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is Scotland's most visited free attraction. With 22 themed, state-of-the-art galleries displaying an astonishing 8000 objects, the collections are extensive, wide-ranging and internationally-significant.
Great way to spend an afternoon.
Went primarily for two things.
1. Charles Rennie Mackintosh exhibition, this was very good.
2. Crucifixion of Christ. This was on lone. Disappointing :-(
Nice café with great table service.
Good fun free day out. The CRM exhibition was £7 entry but that is a small price to pay for a great museum/gallery that is all free.
Highly recommend.

Bothwell Castle is the largest and finest 13th century stone castle in Scotland, much fought over during the Wars of Independence. Located in a beautiful setting overlooking the River Clyde, part of the original circular keep of Bothwell Castle survives. Find out about medieval Scotland by exploring the 13th century prison tower and the 14th century great hall and chapel. Open all year. Winter closed Thurs and Fri
This is an impressive castle ruins with the most amazingly huge walls. Really interesting to see canon balls that had been fired at the castle. Parts of the ruins are currently being renovated but still well worth a visit. The attendant/guide Chris was amazingly helpful and informative.

Fun park to explore with children's zoo. The park itself is quite big and features various animals such as rabbits, Guinea pigs, wallabies, marmosets, meerkats, snakes, reptiles and fish.
The calderglen park has a lot to offer , you can spend a hole day there without it costing a fortune.
So what have they got to offer you , there are some great well laid out nature walks, good exercise and great for walking the dog, there is load of safe space for children to have fun and various structures for them to play on, it has also got a coffeeshop that is open at certain times.
The zoo is worth a walk about , with a good variety of wild & pet animals to see, you have to pay to enter the zoo, but it is worth it. the park also play host for an assortment of events throughout the year. Enjoy your day there .

We haven't been for a while but took our grandchildren on Sunday and were pleased to find they have added more swings and attractions for the kids - what a difference it made - we had to drag them away for lunch!
My only complaint is that there are still no toilet facilities open unless you visit the cafe - come on South Lanarkshire - open the toilets, particularly at the weekend!

Welcome to our state of the art indoor soft play center. Kids Complex has everything that you need to have an amazing time; whether it be a day out with family, a party to celebrate your child's special day or just to give the little ones some exercise to keep them fit and healthy.
My kids love this place and have had their last two birthday parties there. To me this is a good soft play because you can see every part of the play area from the Seating area, there's good snack food and it feels quite spacious without being a cavern. The parties we've had have always been very well organised and we've literally turned up with cake and candles and the staff have done all the rest!
The only thing against it is that the sinks are very high in the loos and although there are step stools, it's still hard for wee ones to reach soap.

Over 360 acres of green, this lovely park is best known for its well-kept scenic running and walking trails.
Set in a spacious park in the center of 19th Century Suburban Glasgow, is a country home now museum that is worthy of a visit when in Glasgow. Pollok House is grand and architecturally significant, with several lovely interior spaces that "wow", filled with an historic collection of paintings from Spain and Italy filling it's gallery of rooms: step out to the parterre Gardens (they were in bloom in the temperate winter), and, make time for a soup and Sandwich in the former kitchen lit from a glass lantern - turned into a cafe...and, Scottish gifts available in an ample gift shop. (food, wool products and other gift items).
