Povile is a fisherman's village in Croatia on the Adriatic coast beneath the old town of Ledenice (cro. Ledenička Gradina). It is connected by the D8 highway. It has two little chapels, St. Mary Magdalene (Croatian: Sv. Marija Magdalena) and St. John (Croatian: Sv. Ivan). The former is still in use and the latter now is a private storage. The chapel of St. Mary Magdalene was built in the 14th century and St. Mary Magdalen in the saint of Povile, with the day of St. Mary Magdalene being celebrated each year on the night of Povile which falls in summer.

Weil das Essen im Hotel "the View" ungenießbar war, haben wir ein Restaurant im Ort gesucht und sind fündig geworden.
Das Essen war eines der besten in Kroatien. Geschmackvoll zubereitet.
Nette deutsch sprechende Bedienung. Alles zusammen ein sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Last days we've been to four 'top' restaurants in Crikvenica/Selce according to TripAdvisor (Dida, Zrinski, Galija, and Katunić). The only one that stands out is Dida, all others are in the best way very mediocre… including this one.
I must definitely put my regards to the staff that were very nice and helpful. However, the food was really mediocre. And it's almost impossible to get real/wild fish (and not farm grown stuffed with antibiotics and other poisons).
The octopus salad was OK, nothing special but OK. Than we had Oven baked sardines… also OK but there was missing something. At the end we had Grilled Adriatic squids and Grilled octopus. Especially octopus was almost uneatable, overburned, chewy and hard to eat.
I believe that this has to do with too much customers and getting as much as possible from us, tourists. Unfortunately.

Received recommendations from friends who lived in Zagreb and our hotel concierge. We were grateful for such great advice, the restaurant has many dining options. Several outdoor areas & a beautiful indoor (no smoking) dining room that was classic but not stuffy. A professional, uniformed staff, white tablecloths & a perfectly edited menu of authentic Croatian cuisine with a contemporary twist. Our server Nanci spoke beautiful English & was quite helpful in choosing our wine & entrees.
We started with Pumpkin Soup & Vegetable Soup, both excellent, perfectly seasoned. Our entree choices were Veal with cheese crust, pan-browned gnocchi with braised young cabbage that was more like chard, the Veal melted in our mouths. I chose the Veal & potatoes prepared under Peka, delicious, lean, juicy meat. Would order entire meal again, planning to return during our visit to Zagreb. As if our perfect meal wasn't enough, we also sampled the freshly baked Apple Strudel with delicate vanilla sauce & 6 Chocolate Torte which was light yet rich enough to satisfy your worst chocolate cravings. Highly recommend.

Their pizza is always very tasty, nice and thin and crunchy. But waht's really good are the calamari, or squid. Fried or grilled, you can't go wrong with them. It's a simple dish, but most restaurants can't seem to get it right, and the squid in Venus is always nice and tender, not rubbery at all. I recommend the swiss chard as a side dish, it's a match made in heaven.

The food at Garfild is good. I wouldn't call it spectacular nor would I say it was unacceptable. Both the rump steak and pork steaks were overlooked and a little tough. The fish was under seasoned. The cordon blue was well made.

Cozy downtown streets, Adria seemed one of many restaurants lined up next to each other, but the only one having a waiting line for a table. So we waited and was worth it, the manager sent a Hungarian speaking waiter to our table, although we speak other languages, it was a kind gesture. Given its large amount of hungry tourists, still served us in time, smiled, and the food was beyong just tasty. I would recommend to all fish lovers.
