We came upon this lovely restaurant located inside an old stone barn overlooking rows of vineyards. The covered outside area has vines dripping with grapes overhead, views of the Mountains in the distance. What an idyllic setting.
We immediately needed a glass of wine to accompany this ambiance. Our waitress suggested a very nice local red wine. We then chose a homemade ravioli w local ingredients,a combination of mushrooms. Our main dish was roasted Veal in a mosto grape sauce. We split one of their homemade Deserts. Overall our service was very attentive and we did order that second bottle of wine, even better. We were very happy on one of our last nights in Italy.

"La Berlera" focus on typical local recipes offering high quality dishes served on a fantastic location.
This was a really outstanding dining experience - seated outside on a warm evening, overlooking the northern part of the Lago di Garda, we enjoyed a modern and innovative interpretation of traditional local Trentino cuisine. I could not start recommending any dish, as they were all excellent - meat seems to be their specialty. Desserts were unbelievable as well, up to the colour combination of food and bowl.
Very helpful and friendly staff that can explain the food in english as well as italian.
The place itself has an interesting history, told on the menu. Make sure to reserve a table beforehand. Google maps was a good help in finding it, otherwise it might be a little difficult.

We have visited "Frizzi" many times ..it is a family run restaurant and bar in a really lovely location high above the lake of Garda. looking forward to our next meal there soon! don't expect a menu.. and arrive hungry. The meal starts with platters of carne salada (Trentino special cured meat) a special bean dish, baskets of bread and salami's, pickled vege's etc.. then on to course after course.. depending on the size of your group it can include pasta's, fried potatoes, sauteed beef, vegetables.. food just keeps coming as long as people are hungry. The delicious local wine is served in ceramic jugs.. they set a price per person for groups that reserve in advance.. last year think it was 22 euro's..and have a large room available for groups.. we celebrated our grandsons birthday there last year with a group of 20. it is a favorite place for locals, and prices in their dining room and bar are reasonable.

If you love to relax and enjoy Italy under a leafy vault of vine leaves and grapes festooned above an open courtyard; and, if you like your history visible in Renaissance frescoes hidden in the vaults or emblazoned on the eaves; and, if you like excellent food (I disagree with some other commentators - try the rabbit, or the local cured meat, la carne salada) at reasonable prices; and, if you like friendly service; and, if you like all this served in an atmospheric old palazzo with an interesting history in the centro storico of a delightful town cowering below its brooding crag-top castillo, then this restaurant is for you. Full-stop.

What an unexpected title "good old school". And certainly it does not refer to the type of cooking or the service - no, Isabelle and Ebi were board members in the Swiss borading School I joined in the late 7ties. A warm and friendly atmosphere welcomes every guest - no matter which school they joined. The cooking style is influenced by - of course Switzerland - Italy and many other places Isabelle and Ebi have seen or lived at. The products are fresh and of regional origin. The portions are bigger than their prices, wine, beer and other beverages are well chilled. The service is as friendly as attentive. The view over the valley is beautiful and takes you away from the rather touristy neighborhood of Torbole or Riva del Garda (both 5 minutes drive). What I will eat, next time I will be back here again? Certainly the thinly sliced beef aged in salt and spices - it was delicious. The Swiss cheese fondue was the next choice - as authentic as in Appenzell - but far to heavy for the summer holiday. So rather than returning next summer, we will be back in autumn or winter, enjoying another cheese fondue and remembering the good old days at our good old school.

After the first visit to the Boccon d'Oro, we had the opportunity to cook together with the pizzaiola, with just a few ingredients he made delicious pizza's. It was amazing! When you are in the neighbourhood you should visit this restaurant

Restaurant and winery 'Restel de Fer', founded and run by the Family Meneghelli for more than 50 years. Here you will find fresh homemade pasta, Gardalake fish, quality meat, cold cuts and local cheeses, fruit and vegetables in season. You can also enjoy selected Italian wines.
Found this place on TripAdvisor and thought we would give it a go. We most certainly weren't disappointed. We had 3 courses each and each course was very well presented and tasted fantastic.
The maître d / Sommelier was brilliant, we asked him to serve a wine that would suit the dish we were eating and he not only chose the wine but followed it with a detailed description of the vineyard.
This was far above what is expected when going out for a meal but was brilliantly done. We finished the evening of with a little tour of the house and an impressive story about the property and the family history.
Highly recommend if you want a great evenings experience as it's far more than just a simple meal.

Restaurant situated up on the hill with a beautiful lake view is great place for dinner. All dishes we had were very good, but i recommend saffron risotto and local red wine. Staff is helpful and professional. When leaving we bought few bottles of delicious vinegar they produce.

Serves Gelati, Pizzas Panini, Wine Bar,cocktails, Desserts, Breakfast Great Atmosphere
The yoghurt with berries was good and I would recommend it. The Tiramisu was extremely creamy and fat, unlike the home made ones I’m used too. The ice cream is tasty but extremely fatty and filling. After having read the ingredient list posted in small print on the wall next to the counter I understood why. After milk, sugar and different types of fruit there comes a huge list of E-number additives. Some of them might be natural, but most are not.
If you to Flora’s skip the ice cream and choose one of the healthier options made with fresh fruit.

We believe that using what the Nature gives us, respecting its times and ways, is the best path to invigorate the traditional cooking, especially that from Trentino. Today, like as never before, we need to go back to the past, to revalue fragrances and flavours derived from the raw materials' genuineness. The chef Luca Cattoni, thanks to his skills, creativity and the tradition, will be able to knead and create dishes like the ones of our grandmothers that bring us back to our childhood, when we saw them busy around the house fire. The fulfillment of this project started from an accurate research which allowed us to select the best farms, Ranches and cellars that guarantee us ideal and perfect products for our menu. We sincerely hope our working methods to be successful to offer you something that doesn't want to be a discovery, but a rediscovery. For you and for us.
Went here based on its rating on trip advisor. When we got there they asked if we'd booked, which we hadn't, but they managed to fit us in. When we looked at the menu we weren't sure there was anything we liked, but as they'd fitted us in felt obliged to stay. There wasn't any English translation but the waitress tried her best to explain things with her limited English. My husband and I don't eat meat, so we chose 2 fish starters rather than a starter and a main. We weren't sure what we would get and if it would be enough. We needn't have worried the food was really different and delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want something special, but not really for vegetarians as mainly meat dishes
