Shediac is a Canadian town in Westmorland County, New Brunswick. The town is known as the "Lobster Capital of the World" and hosts an annual festival every July which promotes its ties to lobster fishing. At the western entrance to the town is a 90-tonne sculpture called (perhaps inaccurately) The World's Largest Lobster.

We visited on a windy November day so of course everything was closed but we had a picnic along the benches by the children’s play structure and then walked along the beach. We travelled along the Acadian route and found this to be the nicest of the Beaches. The water was calmer even though it was windy and the beach was very large with nice white sand. I imagine it would be a nice summer spot with lots to do as there is a large restaurant and many shops along the warf.

One of the most photographed attractions in New Brunswick, i.e. Shediac’s Giant Lobster, is ageing gracefully, even very gracefully, and we plan to celebrate its 25th anniversary in style this year (2015). This work of art measuring 11 metres long, 5 metres in width, 5 metres high and weighing nearly 90 tons saw the light of day thanks to an initiative launched by the Shediac Rotary Club. The Town and the Rotary Club will therefore work together to mark the quarter century of existence of this work of art sculpted by the artist Winston Bronnum. For more information on the festivities marking the 25th anniversary, please visit the Town of Shediac’s website.
Rural Canada is littered with all sorts of "big" sculptures. This is a one of a lobster with a fisherman. It is a great place to take a selfie and capture the feel of the maritimes. It is beside a pleasant little park with some shops and tourist information office. Washrooms available. Easy to find off the highway.

Prices are beyond reasonable for watching two new releases. You can find out what is playing in advance and the cost by going to their website http://www.neptunedrivein.ca/
Inside the canteen area there is food for purchase and the washrooms. I would suggest bringing a radio because it allows you to turn off you car, preventing the battery from dying. At the booth you pay at to enter the radio station to tune into is listed.
Shediac isn't far from Moncton for those staying in that area and the TCH is only a short distance from the drive-in. It is an enjoyable- experience for all ages.

Great shop with a wide variety of handmade products from talented crafters. I was so happy to be able to pick up great items and support the local artists. For souvenirs and one of a kind items it is a must see. The owners are very friendly and helpful as well.

This is not just a new art gallery in this precious little east coast town- but it’s becoming the most talked about cultural gathering place in town. The artist is a well known, amazing, painter and she treats her new gallery as a place of inspiration, creativity and calmness. She invites anyone to drop by and just enjoy the venue. The best thing is that you can purchase just about anything you see or just enjoy the experience. Brigitte has also moved her studio into the gallery, so you will often find her painting and she doesn’t mind chatting with you while she’s creating. This is a must visit place when you’re in the area- don’t miss it!
