The good thing about Catholic Churches is that they are usually open to the public, and that is true here. St Joseph's lies off the main road, and I was surprised to find this relatively large church for the first time. It sits in a large open space, and adjacent to a cemetery. The church is quite dark inside with matching stained glass windows. A large crucifix is placed halfway down the nave on one side wall. I found it a restful place to sit and reflect.

I’m still in awe as this is the first beach that I had been to that allows cars right into the beach itself. You can drive for a long stretch along the compact shoreline. For the same matter, we gotta keep an eye on the kids especially when the beach gets more crowded.
You can see a good stretch of the beach all the way to the headland. There isn’t much shelter along the beach. There’s a public restroom.
Highly recommended to anyone heading to Mclaren Vale.

A beautiful long, wide, flat, sandy, sheltered beach ending in impressive sandstone cliffs at the southern end - the clothing optional end! It can be less inviting on a day with north winds but generally Maslin Beach is an absolute pleasure over the summer months - the north end is great for families while the south end is great for those seeking an all-over tan or who simply like to go swimming unencumbered by swimwear! There are limited facilities so you do need to bring shelter, food and drinks. There are two entry points - the one to the southern end, closer to the cliffs and the legal nude beach involves significant steps, so come prepared for a bit of a walk. Less than an hour's drive from Adelaide city-centre, mid-week is a great time to get to Malin's especially if you're seeking to go sans-swimwear!

Fox Creek Wines began when a group of medicos decided to realise a lifelong passion - creating wine from bare earth and Sunshine. The earth was found at McLaren Vale, one of South Australia's premier wine regions on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The Sunshine was free.Jim and Helen Watts purchased the 32 hectare Vineyard property in 1984 and were advised against planting vines in the heavy clay soil. Undeterred by the sceptics they planted and nurtured fine quality cuttings. Their labours bore quality fruit which they lovingly converted into supreme quality wines. Success followed and blends and single varietal wines are produced from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Mourverdre, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Verdelho vines. Their Reserve Shiraz received an Excellent Classification in Langton’s 5th Classification of Australian Wine. The nineteenth century stone Cellar Door Cottage is surrounded by beautiful tranquil grounds where visitors often picnic. The Cellar Door is open for tastings daily, 10am and 5pm. Winery tours are available at 10:20am on Mondays and Fridays; bookings essential.
