Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours offers a wide range of boat trip to the Farne Islands in Northumberland. Our boats have toilets on board and our catamaran has disabled access when the tides are right. All ages are welcome as well as dogs. Our skippers and crewman are there to help you with any question you like so pleased do not hesitate to ask. If you want to know about our day to day adventures before you arrive, then why not have a look at our blog.
Based on such positive reviews, we deliberately headed to book with Serenity. Booking was really easy in the town by the car park (only cash though no cards) and then went out on the 10:30am trip. Very friendly and informative crew - mixing with travellers...MoreThank you for taking time to write your review and I am really pleased you enjoyed the trip. Hopefully we will see you again sometime. Regards Andrew

The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is among the finest landscape of the country. It was designated in 1958 and covers 39 miles of coast from Berwick to the Coquet Estuary. Within this stretch of coastline is some of the most dramatic coastal scenery - sweeping sandy Beaches, rolling dunes, high rocky cliffs and isolated Islands.
We came with great expectations and left underwhelmed. We had glorious weather for February so can’t blame that. Yes the views along some parts of the coast are fabulous Newton links to Dunstaburgh castle is a loverly and memorable walk. The problem is not really the scenery or the Castles it’s everything else. There are beautiful coast lines all around the UK, think North Norfolk, Suffolk, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Pembrokeshire etc etc. It’s something Islands are pretty good at. The thing missing on the Northumberland coast is ‘infastructure’. The coast might be fabulous but once off the beach things take a turn that is not one for the better. It’s hard to find a decent pub or restraunt or coffee shop/tea room. Seahouses conjures up images, at least in my mind, that it failed to live up to. Cheap and tacky shops and dreary looking houses. After a nice long walk I like to relax with something decent to eat in nice surroundings. Even if you’re self catering it’s a challenge, the Coop is ok but it’s a bit limited for our tastes. If you want a spiritual experience and a carb laden diet of stodge shared with a wet dog by your side you’ll love it. Not for me I’m afraid.

I’ve booked group trips with William for the last 2 years, always had a brilliant time and diving, this year a few of us wanted to come up for a day to dive with the seals. William was very accommodating, we had the best dives ever, lots of seals, could not ask for better boats and skipper, well worth the money !!

Villages in time provide walks around three local villages, Beadnell, Bamburgh, and Seahouses. They focus on the fascinating history of the local area. The walks are gentle and suitable for most people, who can walk the 2 miles or so. Children go free, and there are activities for older children to undertake during the walks. The beautiful early medieval Church of St Aidan in Bamburgh is the latest area to be explored by Villages in Time, in walks undertaken in conjunction with the Parochial Council and Rector. Visits to the Church are only £5 per adult. Please contact Villages in Time to book your visit to this beautiful historic place.
Saw this on Tripadvisor and so glad I did. Phoned and booked a tour of Bamburgh. Learnt so much about the village, its history and, of course, Grace Darling. We were given a meeting point and then taken round the key historical areas - so interesting. Mick, the guide, does Seahouses and Beadnall as well. The tour takes between hour and a half to two hours.

Spectacular course! Unbelievable views. Overall a reasonable short and simple course, but includes a few holes where accuracy is tested to the limits. Across a lake and cliff tops, they add to the challenge. We were offered a good and inexpensive twilight deal including hire of 'excellent clubs' and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and unbelievable views. All staffs were incredibly helpful and relaxed. The clubhouse is informal and provides excellent refreshments and an extensive food menu, the including an all day breakfast. Worth a visit just for a meal and a drink. Again, the welcome from all staff was brilliant, and I will be going back next time I'm in the area.

Great selection of smoked fish and sea food
The smoked fish is 'smoked' on the premises, thus giving it a unique flavour
Superb value for money
I've found that the staff are very knowledgable and don't mind answering customer questions
All in all I would highly recommend a visit to the Swallow Fish smokery

Proper "old school boozer" with impressive and fascinating amount of model ships and nautical material on display. Fairly basic but full of character and characters. Clearly a favourite of a number of regulars and some very colourful language throughout our visit, but nothing outrageously offensive. Indeed we were encouraged in by some regulars outside smoking.

I undertook the White Water Tubing activity with this company together with my son and his girlfriend , who are both in their late teens. They are far more used to these types of adventures than I am but we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The setting was stunning, being Low Force near Middleton in Teesdale. We starting of sliding down small Waterfalls just in our wetsuits and helmets then progressed to a longer course in large rings. The activity culminated in us jumping off a 12 ft ledge at the top of a waterfall. The last bit was optional. The instructors were really friendly, very health and safety aware, but not at the expense of having fun.
