Port Campbell National Park

Port Campbell National Park is world famous for its extraordinary collection of wave-sculpted rock formations and the Twelve Apostles. Loch Ard Gorge, site of the 19th century shipwreck 'Loch Ard', as well as the Island Archway and London Bridge are other highlights. The Island Archway collapsed in 2009, highlighting the fragile and ever-changing nature of Victoria's coastline. Start your visit by heading to the Twelve Apostles Kiosk and Carpark before taking the walk to view the amazing Twelve Apostles coastline. The site offers kiosk, information, shelter and toilets. Walk the short distance (500m) through a tunnel under the Great Ocean Road to various Lookouts offering expansive, breathtaking views. From the Twelve Apostles carpark there is also an easy 2.2km return walk to Gibson Steps Lookout. The lookout is above the beach with excellent views East and West. Port Campbell National Park lies between Princetown and Peterborough, 285 km west of Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road (4-5 hours drive), and 240 km from Melbourne via Colac.

There are so many beautiful views in this National Park and its well worth a good explore, but be aware how popular it can be at peak times. It is simply stunning though, so take a camera. Lots of easily accessible walkways make it a great place for all ages and abilities.

Apostle Whey Cheese

Dairy farmers Julian and Dianne Benson launched Apostle Whey Cheese on October 29, 2005. Since that day, Apostle Whey Cheese has taken out a number of major cheese awards and become an important tourism drawcard for the region. Just a short drive from the Twelve Apostles and the Great Ocean Road, Apostle Whey Cheese is a genuine paddock to plate operation.

A great place to visit, we sampled the variety of cheeses. The staff were very informative and there was no pressure to purchase, though we did buy some to take home. Lovely views and gardensThank you for your review of our business Apostle Whey Cheese , it is always rewarding to know we are providing a good service to our customers and they enjoy the experience with us. Gibsons Steps

The Great Ocean Road offers some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the world, much of it in Port Campbell National Park. However not a lot of the beach is actually accessible for more than viewing. Gibsons Steps counters this offering an opportunity for a walk or some sunbathing and play on the beach.

less spectacular, less crowded but not less spectacular than the apostles, this nice natural arch, very close from the road is worth a short detour. It will only take 10 minutes and you'll be rewarded with a couple of nice pictures, especially in the afternoon when the sun is behind you.

All.yoy need from a tourist information centre :) Even welcomed our little pooch. Nice little display of the doomed Loch Ard and more. Stimulating reception which prompted us to stay an extra night here to see the sights. Seems like this is the nicest spot for Great Ocean Road tourism :)

John was our guide on a private tour along the Great Ocean Road. John being a former national park ranger was able to provide rich insights into the background, history of the shipwreck coast, and the surrounding stretch within the vicinity. We had a relaxing time as John planned a good itinerary in line with what we had in mind, including stops to Serendip Wildlife Sanctuary and Great Ocean Road Wildlife Park. He was also great in recommending cafes/ restaurants along the drive, within the local area of Geelong, Colac and Port Campbell
Dark skies, wind and rain were on the agenda as well, preventing us from covering a full itinerary, but a big thank you goes to John for his hospitality and company, we had such an enjoyable time ,unrushed and leisurely :) 
