This pub has had a complete makeover about six months ago. They've done a great job doing up the building inside and the food and service are amazing.
We popped in for an early dinner with friends (3 school age kids combined).
Overall we had a great night. While the food was good the highlight was the service.
Our waiter David was terrific (he let us know that a huge group had arrived so we could order first and was super attentive all night).
The food was good (I’ve had better here before) but nothing to complain about. The serves were good and the prices ok but importantly they were quick (particularly with the kids meals).
A great night overall.

Apart from the creative breakfast menu which spans the whole range from muesli to breads there is an exciting lunch menu with clear European/Turkish influences. These dishes are high on taste impact and supported by the freshest of veg and salad ingredients. Serves are generous. Staff seem to enjoy there work, always a good sign. No table numbers here, we had a Snoop Dog identifier. Lovely eating area at the back, some nice art. Good coffee, more choc and berry flavoured. All in all a nice place for breakfast or lunch.

TULIP Geelong Tulip is located on Pakington Street, Geelong West - Geelong's vibrant centre of multiculturalism. Situated at the north end, Tulip is nestled amongst boutique shops and select restaurants characteristic of the cosmopolitan precinct. The décor lends itself to a contemporary but relaxed vibe, with flexible and shared dining options. The menu hosts an impressive list of modern dishes each centred on a main ingredient. The element of simplicity carries over to the wine list which boasts Victorian wines. Friends and chefs Matt Dempsey (Gladioli) and Graham Jefferies combined their experiences and vision to open Tulip. Flexibility, simplicity and quality combine making Tulip a unique dining experience.
Busy for a Wednesday night, while the rest of Pakington st was quiet, so good start.
Oysters with seaweed vinegar were exceptionally fresh and highly recommended.
the half lamb shoulder with smoked eggplant was plenty for two people.
wines by the glass or half glass was refreshing idea and a way to balance courses with selected local wines.

Came here with a group of friends for lunch. Great social setup, with plenty of large tables for big groups. Air con appreciated on a hot day. Food to share was really good and reasonably priced. My only criticism is the share plates came out way before the pizzas, so half the group ate while the others waited. But would defiantly come back here and make a day of it, making the most of the brewery tours and events on.

We hadn’t been here for a long time but remembered how good it was. The summer menu looks good, chia and oatmeal porridge with grilled banana stewed rhubarb with a crunchy crumble topping was very tasty. The Bircher muesli had poached pear, honeycomb, sliced apple with lemon curd and candied almonds which is a taste sensation.
The smoothies are very refreshing and reasonably priced. The only let down is the coffee came out half way through our meal, this is due to the walk ins for takeaway coffee that seem to get preference and also we ordered large and got small, not ideal.
Well worth a visit.

La Vista is a sophisticated yet very affordable Italian restaurant that has recently opened up near the Waterfront of Geelong. Located at the corner of Brougham and Bellarine Streets, with the cafe downstairs serving great coffee and a lovely restaurant upstairs where you can choose from a delicious selection of traditional Italian fare. Owner and Head Chef, Salvatore De Cola brings over 30 years experience in Italian cooking. His homemade gnocchi will melt in your mouth and they serve the best authentic Italian food you have ever tasted. La Vista is fully licensed and now offers BYO (wine only) and have a fantastic wine list that complements all of their dishes. Stop by to enjoy a fantastic Italian experience. A new lunch time menu is now available with very affordable prices and a la carte menu is available on the weekends.
In Geelong for business (accompanied by my husband) so we took the opportunity to stroll along the waterfront. We found this wonderful restaurant. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We felt like well-loved family - and then the food! Wow - I'm still savouring the risotto - Delicate yet very tasty.

We ate here recently, for the first time, and the food was just sensational !! The servings were very generous and the food itself was sensational. We will definately go back and will have real problems just trying to choose which dish to order. The level of service was also tremendous - not pushy, but very appropriate. Do yourself a favour, as Molly would say, and get on down there - you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you make a booking because a walkup won't get you a seat at a table !!
