Fantastic views over Kampala, really gives you a feel for the layout of the city. Excellent tour guides, really know their stuff. It is quite a hike up, there are a lot of steep stairs to get to the top, so be prepared. But the views are worth climbing up for and lovely breeze to cool you off after the climb! There are not many things to do in Kampala, so this is a nice excursion.

During a six week stay in Uganda, Tony from Muky Tours drove us on several different occasions, but exclusively for a 10 day self-designed safari tour of five national parks at the end of our stay. Tony is unfailingly prompt, reliable, courteous and now, a friend. Our itinerary was very ambitious, but he worked with us to make sure we got the most from our ten days and made suggestions for activities/routes that we weren't aware of, but which enhanced our experiences. We were also happy to support a Ugandan-owned and operated tour company.

There is nowhere else like Lakeside Adventure Park in Uganda. The park has state-of-the-art climbing activities, with a professional support team. A group of twenty of us took the Lakeside Adventure Park boat across to their site - the usual boat ride takes 45 minutes but you can even drive via Mukono.
The high wire activity operates on two levels. Our instructor J.K. instructed everyone on how to use the safety equipment. The health and safety briefing is very important. The high wire activities combine ropes and pulleys and sections that you navigate using your upper body. It requires coordination, balance and concentration. Other activities at Lakeside include a brilliant assault course (for which we split into teams of two and raced each other), a crate tower building exercise for teambuilding fun, a climbing wall, volleyball and more.
The booking process was very easy and the team made sure that we had everything that we wanted. Lakeside can actually cater for 70 people and is a popular venue for corporate and teambuilding events. A new kitchen and conference room are being constructed as I write. The dormitory accommodation is excellent. The two huge dormitories, one male and one female, have hot showers and toilets. They can sleep approximately 55 people. Lakeside even have a bar for clients. Generally, the place is very quiet. We had a really fantastic time and can’t wait to return. I can't recommend Lakeside highly enough.

Baha'i Temple

Reviewed By JolantaM - Abu Dhabi

The only Baha'i temple in Africa. The location is atop one of the hills of Kampala and the views are beautiful. The area is not very big and a walk around only took about 15 minutes. There was a "tour", but in only included a guide talking to us for about 10 minutes about the Baha'i faith, history, locations, etc. Still, it was informative. A very peaceful place in the middle of a hectic city.

Sezibwa Falls

Reviewed By Parth T

The place is a wonderful water fall, located between Mukono and Lugazi, off the Jinja road for about 3-5 kms. The distance of the place from the capital city Kampala is around 35-40 kms.
The place is so isolated, so fresh and so quiet where you can enjoy the view of the falls falling from a small hill down to the Sezibwa River. The facilities are not so good and feels like a village but place is so green that you can feel the freshness. One can choose to stay overnight in a cottage or owned tents. One can also prepare some food there by just paying a little amount to caretakers.
The falls is a nice place where a two streams of water merges on the top of the hill and joins the main river. You can do a little tracking up to the hill and watch the fall from there. There is a small bridge on top of the hill where you can pass and cover the entire area by walking around. Also, the Gardens are so good, Seating arrangements are good and one can really enjoy the personal time as there are not many visitors. In my words, I call it mini-murchison falls.
I would recommend this to visitors who like the green beauty of Uganda.

Lubiri Palace

Reviewed By Rick S - Wakefield, Canada

I think your experience will depend on the guide you get. Ours, Fred, was ok, but our driver actually probably knew more than he did about the kingdom and neither really delved into the many narratives and stories that I'm sure are available. The palace is never open to outsiders and the Parliament, which we combined with our visit, has only one room open, so there isn't a huge amount to see. The torture chambers on-site were rather eye-opening and macabre.

Just returned from a 6-day trip to Uganda booked through Gorilla bookings and cannot say enough! Excellent service from the outset, making recommendations on how to improve my proposed itinerary whilst retaining value for money. On the ground with Moses was excellent with his good knowledge and safe driving - something we appreciated as we live in Nairobi where safety does not naturally come first! Ugandan people are welcoming and friendly. As for the Gorilla and Chimp experiences - totally amazing! Impossible to describe unless you have visited these amazing creatures. Uganda tourism have got it right and Gorilla Bookings follow suit - excellent company. I will definitely travel with them again,
