"Fine food is what we are famous for" says owner and chef Trevor Bosch of the Angel Restaurant at Long Crendon. This 16th century coaching inn nestled in a picturesque village on the Bucks, Oxfordshire border has built up a reputation for being one of those rare places that combines wonderful food, ambiance and service. Our Menus offer a wealth of choices for Meat, Fish/Shellfish, Vegetarian & Vegan Diners. Wines, Cocktails and Bar Drinks
My wife booked the Angel for my birthday some six or seven years ago, and we enjoyed it so much said we'd definitely go back. Goodness knows why it took so long, but glad we eventually did. This time it was for my wife birthday. I started by ordering a prawn risotto, oh my goodness this is not a traditional Italian meal but it should be, it was mouthwateringly delicious. My wife had Salmon gravadlax as a starter and followed with Skeir cod and a masala sauce with a bhaji and vegetables, she loved it. My main was smoked haddock on champ with a poached egg on top, again delicious. I opted for a pudding of Calvados Creme brûlée ..... we'll be going back sooner this time.

Outstanding food and stunning wine, with eccentric yet faultless service. What's more to say. Very high quality ingredients cooked seriously well. Great recommends from Frederic for both wine and food. Well worth finding this hidden gem. Do not be put off by the slightly dated interior ............ you will not regret.

Quintessential English pub, offering home cooked, high quality food with personal service from Carol and all food prepared and cooked by John.Small bars and restaurant with capacity of only 16 covers. Open fire in the winter and beautiful patio with hanging baskets in the summer. We look forward to welcoming you. Please check our web site for opening hours.
The Five Elms is a true gem. Real traditional pub food and atmosphere which is hard to find nowadays. Me and my partner enjoyed a 3 course meal. Delicious starter, I then had the lamb rump which I have to say was cooked to absolute perfection and the best I've had. And a lovely homemade pudding to finish! Large portion sizes, and fair prices. The owners are so welcoming and friendly, we will definitely be returning and I highly recommend.

Fine Dining modern British
We have been coming to The Chequers for 8 years and every time we go it just gets even more amazing. The tasting menu we had is absolutely outstanding. Stunning food and service to match.
Ps. We don’t have a photo of the soufflé as we tucked into it too quickly!

Had prebooked a table for lunch, staff were very pleasant and service was good. Were given a choice of 2 menus, everything for £7 lunch menu and the main menu, so a good choice of food. All our food was excellent, although mine could’ve been hotter, and the desserts were fab. Good size portions and all in all good value for money.

At 'Spice Garden' we use only the freshest quality ingredients which ensures that our dishes always retain maximum flavour
Went with 17 collegues from work on a Saturday night, all booked in advance. Due to numbers we were divided into two groups which wasn't an issue. Staff very friendly on entering, shown to rables and menus handed out and drinks ordered taken. Food ordered, poppadums delivered, more drinks....understand we were a large group and not the only customers but from entering to getting food, two hours....is this normal. When food arrived, no complaints at all, very tasty and plenty of it. On paying the bill, complimentary drinks offered and accepted, be rude not too. Apart from the wait, food was great and the staff friendly. Will use again.

The Pointer is a country pub, restaurant farm and butchers that serves fantastic modern British Food. Situated at the centre of the village of Brill in Buckinghamshire, we are open Tuesday to Sunday, serving lunch and dinner from Tuesday through to Sunday afternoons. The butchers where you can buy our meat and charcuterie and produce from local artisan producers, is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons and Saturday morning until 2pm. At the pub, we cook what's best on the day, using the seasonal produce we either grow ourselves in our kitchen garden or purchase from local artisan producers. Much of our meat comes from our own livestock herds and neighbouring farms, and if from further afield, from farmers who believe in excellent standards of animal husbandry. We’re easily accessible, have plenty of parking and beautiful Gardens leading out to some lovely walks. You’ll find us by the village green, next to All Saints Church. Families and children are very welcome. In Spring 2017 we'll be adding four rooms for overnight stays too.
It’s been a while since my wife and I got away for a romantic meal. Glad to say, Nan come through for us babysat for the evening. We really wanted something special for the night and we found it the Pointer.
Amazing food, great severs and just an overall cosy ambiance to the place. I highly recommend you give it a try. You won’t regret the quality of the ingredients!
Lastly had to post a picture of my favourite dessert which they have the menu...Sticky Toffee!!

We booked for Sunday lunch, three people including a wheelchair user. The telephone booking process was friendly and very welcoming, although some advice on parking for wheelchair users would have been welcome. On arrival we found both wheelchair spaces were occupied by vehicles not displaying a badge - but this is hardly the fault of the pub. Our starter of chicken liver pate was truly excellent and all of us had the roast beef lunch. The plates were nicely warmed (always a yardstick), but the beef had an unwelcome streak of gristle that made it difficult to cut and chew. I am not at all sure the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds were an in-house creation, but I am happy to be corrected on that point. If they were made in house, they need improvement. The vegetables, however, were first rate. Pudding of Creme Brûlée was very good indeed, as was the wine selection at very decent prices. We liked the service, very fitting for the style and price of this place. Management of The Seven Stars are brave and creative for what they do and I hope it will continue in similar vein. It deserves to do so.

Family meal let down by substandard service. Thinking about it, I wish I hadn't paid the service charge now which was not an insignificant amount. We were served by a total of 6 different people from our arrival to departure. Front of house (dark haired chap) was friendly and welcoming upon arrival but it went down hill from thereon. Young waitresses tried their best but Karen was a bad example to all. I have never seen plates 'plonked' down like that on the table in a long time and did not expect this of the Five Arrows. Why? Not a smile to mention either. Seemed aggrieved in some way? Didn't want to be there? Wine arrived not properly chilled but didn't want to create a scene so left it. Basic standards which one does not expect to have to flag. Food quality very good - excellent starters and mains - risotto and the lamb were excellent too. BUT why are the portions so small? Why could they not serve a few vegetables on the side for people to share and what happened to the roast potatoes that were promised? I'm afraid the service issue needs to be addressed and I await further comment from this establishment before we consider returning. We left feeling hungry despite everyone having 3 courses. Should have been 4 stars but gave a generous 3 due to poor service, portion sizes and wine not being properly chilled.
