A ride in the Green Goddess with all its 'up to date' equipment - wooden cab, double de clutching, no power steering, petrol & leather smells.......if only this wonderful old tender could talk through the history it has seen......simply wonderfully nostalgic.
Driving the powerful Dennis with blues & twos, 10 tons of water on board & and a great instructor is simply something many people dream about......not to be missed & worth every penny.
The staff we talked with were so friendly and worked hard to ensure we were looked after & enjoyed every minute. So much else going on around simply to observe - gliders, tanks....Thanks to all.

It's a small wood recently planted (13 maybe 17 years)
When I was a kid it was a field with a pond in
I put the carp in the pond! Me and my mate, they were about 2cm long about 25 years ago. As well as 1 zander and 2 catfish (possibly not the best idea but we were only 15)..

Touring Caravan site, grass and hard standing pitches mainly with electric and some with grey waste disposal and drinking water points. Eco pods also available, tent area, 2 fishing lakes, tree covered dog walk and 2 modern shower/toilet blocks. Car/caravan wash, laundry machines available.
Booked here purely as it was half way home from the Isle of Wight and offered serviced pitches. Graded 3 AA pennants. Friendly welcome level pitch with ash hard standing and adjacent grass for awning. First attempt couldn't reach the waste drain so we were moved to the next pitch which was fine, drain was a little slow to drain but was OK. Quirky little site with a lot of nice touches, two fishing lakes offered at £7 a rod a day (max 2 rods). Lovely relaxing walks around the fishing lakes and through the woodland dog walk. Massive amount of wild life around even seeing the fish in the lakes near the surface, decent sizes too! There are several pods available and a few picnic tables and benches around the site. Several people made use of the fire pits offered. Two small toilet blocks, brick built by reception and a wooden block in the upper field, both small but functional. There is a coin operated power washer for your car with stepladders available for your caravan/motorhome. Frozen milk and bread offered at reception. Entry is by a barrier but purely by push button so no real security, although there is CCTV on reception. We had a pleasant peaceful stay and really enjoyed the site. Quite close to the M40 so good for an overnight stop or a bit longer like we did.
