We were advised to go to Hamelin bay about 9:30am for the best time to see the wrays and we were not disappointed. There were loads swimming right along the edge of beach, close enough to touch and only knee deep in the sea. The water is crystal clear and beach is amazing, gorgeous views. No dogs are allowed on the beach. There are toilets near the car park.

Lake Cave

Lake Cave is a stunning crystal wonderland and the only cave in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge with a permanent lake. It acts as a mirror of infinite reflections that is truly magical. The cave is renowned for the ‘Suspended Table’ – a five tonne column of calcite that hangs from the ceiling just a few centimetres above the lake. The precinct features impressive retail, interpretative and cafe facilities. Located 25 kilometres south of Margaret River.

The Grove Experience

Where else can you find, a distillery producing Top Shelf Spirits; a brewery that makes fantastic craft beer; cafe with homemade pizza; a cocktail bar using TGE delicious liqueurs; and secluded accommodation so you don't have to leave.

First ‘port-of-call’ on Sunday’s 70 kms+ eBike ride was The Grove, still one of Margaret River’s best-kept secrets... . And yes, we sampled the ports.
Most of our ride was on the Rail-to-Trails / Wadandi Track, a pleasant shady offroad trail north between Margaret River and Cowaramup. Beyond the track, countless wineries, cafes and other attractions enrich the riding experience.
Our lunch included Quiche-of-the-Day, a Prawn Pizza, and an Avocado Salad*; together with a superb 2007 Grove Tempranillo. Where in regional Australia are you likely to find an 11 yo bottle of red _this_ good, for just twenty bucks?! It was perfect with my pizza... and we later scored a second bottle to cellar for a future dinner party.
Friendly, competent service in a light-and-airy venue that will appeal to visitors and locals alike.
* The avo salad is served with shredded bacon, so if you’re vegetarian, request ‘no bacon, please!’ when ordering.

Manicured Gardens that keep 8 gardeners occupied. Modelled on Groot Constantia in South Africa, this estate portrays opulence. Tastings are charged for in flights of three starting at $9. Refundable on purchase. One can also make up an own selection of 3 and be charged accordingly. We opted for the Chardonnay tasting the Dijon clone versus the Mendoza (gin gin) clone as well as the blend of the two. The combination was interesting with a pleasant citrus mid palate and some minerality. Great service and excellent affordable wines.

Staff are helpful and friendly. There are lots of brochures available but best of all is the large, free map of the district. A treasure.
The building is having some refurb. at the moment but is still open despite the offputting look.

You want birds, they got birds. This is the real deal. Go when there is a feeding and hands on "wrist on show". The explainations are great and you get to see eagles fed swooping down at the food thrown into the air. Of course the highlight is putting on the "bird of prey gauntlet " and having an owl named Ellie sit on your wrist, both of you staring at each other wide eyed and having plenty of photos taken of the two of you....up front and very personal. The Master of ceremony is extremely knowledgeable, funny and informative....you will be aw struck at the brilliant tidbits of information imparted to the audience as you see these birds in action. Afterwards do the half km walk around the property to view other birds of prey being rehabed from past injuries. A definite to do when in the Margeret River area.

This beach is but a short walk along the cliff top path from Surfers Point or you can drive the short distance. Parking available and we luckily nabbed a bay for a short while. Plenty of activity, two surf lifeguards in attendance, swimmers, surfers, people walking the beach. The waves were fairly gentle, the sisters enjoyed their stroll on the beach. First class ablution facilities available.

Sunflowers Animal Farm delighted us. The kids wanted to go back again. Our children are aged 9-13 and they all enjoyed meeting and feeding the animals.
A bit of extra adventure was added with the goats getting out of their enclosure, but the kids thought that was hilarious to boot.
Thanks Sunflowers for a great morning.
