Travel around this part of Sumava for couple of days, lots of history there, but also lots of Turist and many places it's Turist trap. Nothink cheap in high season, have to pay what they charge, no discount, much beter off to get out of beaten path.

If your kids are tired after a day of hiking or (as happened to us) your hiking trip was rained out and you need a place to take the kids for some fun and creativity then this is the place to go. Drevak is a shop/activity center that specializes in wooden toys and items. They sell toys, games, puzzles and items (kitchen tools, bowls, etc) all made from wood. They sell both painted and natural pieces, and that is where the fun begins. You can choose from a wide variety of unpainted wooden toys, animals or shapes and you are provided with paints and an area to paint them. The painting room also has a mat on the floor with hundreds of wooden blocks for the kids to build and play with. Adults and children played together and painted together. The prices are reasonable and the quality is very good. We spent 2 hours playing and painting and my daughter (3 1/2) didn't want to leave. We come to this area often and will definitely keep this place in mind the next time we visit.

This is a protected area bordering the Bavaria with Czech Republic featuring lush and wild forest of beech, fir and larch.
It's very nice walk in the park following the marked trails. For kids and toddlers there are Playgrounds in the Visitors Centres scattered around the National Park. We went there during the winter and enjoyed several wild hiking in the forest.

Walk among the treetops, between 8 and 25 meters above the forest floor, and experience untouched nature from a unique perspective on our 1,300 meter elevated pathway! The highlight of our treetop walk is our 44 meter high tree tower. Experience the boundless forest Wilderness of the Bavarian Forest National Park (Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald) from a new perspective.
Walking in the treetops is a unique experience. The interactive stops along the way make the boardwalk entertaining for children and adults. The Baumwipfelpfad is adjacent to a lovely forest and zoo. So plan to stay the day and either buy food from the onsite vender or bring a lunch. There is also a nice nature center at the end. The trail is about a hour.

Rozhodně jde o pěkný a zajímavý kostel, kolem něhož je i upravené okolí s parkem. Tím ale výčet kladů končí. Kostel není běžně přístupný, což je nesmyslné. Širší okolí kostela, tedy centrum Srní, není příliš hezké - vesnice je zcela znehodnocena a zhýzděna ošklivými socialistickými hotely, bytovkami a jinými vysokými budovami, které se na Šumavu vůbec nehodí. Hezké stavení (Klostermannův dům) uvidíte až za vesnicí cestou k nádrži. Příroda v okolí Srní je každopádně krásná.
