The land of the midnight sun awaits on the northern shores of Great Slave Lake in Yellowknife, a small but diverse city famous for its spectacular wilderness. Sitting on the edge of the Arctic Circle, the city enjoys summer days with nearly 24 hours of sunlight, and dark winter skies lit up by aurora borealis. Once a gold rush town and now a diamond mining town, Yellowknife is the hub of northern activities, ranging from dog sledding and cross-country skiing to backpacking and birding.

The outside of this restaurant looked drab and unappealing but the inside was lively and teeming with people during lunchtime. The noodle soup was hot and tasty and hit just the right spot with the subzero weather outside, and the rice topping with pork and prawns had authentic Vietnamese flavors. The service was fast but not exactly friendly. There was good value for money since the price was relatively cheap for the large servings of food. Definitely a must-visit, especially during the cold winter months!

My boyfriend and I ate here twice on our trip to Yellowknife. Best I can compare to is Denny's/Diner style breakfast food and then a full Chinese food menu too. One of the more reasonably priced places to eat in Yellowknife. Looked like lots of locals and their pick up/take away line was ringing quite a bit while we ate there. I had french toast one time and grilled cheese and a Chinese noodle dish on our second visit. Everything was good and hearty, nothing amazing but if just want fair prices and good portion with a decent size menu selection, this is the place.

Quirky little cabin in Old Town, Yellowknife serving up huge portions. Tasty, tender fresh baked bread, local fish cooked up however you like. Friendly staff. A go-to place for tourists so the tiny dining room was full and we came back later for dinner. Come early, get your name on the wait list then wander Okd Town until dinner.

We had been boycotting Traders Grill for some time because of food quality. We came for an anniversary dinner. After waiting five minutes to get someone’s attention we were told we could have a table but we had to be “gone in 45 minutes.” When we asked if we could get served quickly, he laughed and said there was no way. That was enough for us. We went to the hotel next door, were welcomed, got great service and food. It will be a long time before we even consider the Explorer again!

We went here for breakfast before a morning meeting. The location is excellent, right in the middle of downtown with good access to many places. The big windows facing the street also help to give the place that 'downtown' vibe, which is nice.
We had a couple of specialty coffees here. I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the coffee. It didn't seem much different to me than what I could get at an generic restaurant or fast-service coffee shop. I was expecting a bit more from a specialized cafe like this.
Likewise, the food was average. It was tasty, but not much different that I could have received from any other generic restaurant. I was expecting a bit more from a cafe like this.
Overall this place is decent and are well located. If you're downtown it's a respectable option.

Really sweet place with local vibe! I love the cabin feel and the food is pretty great! The bison pouting is amazing! The bison stew, chicken roti, and the vege dip appetizer are all amazing! I was disappointed in the Korean chicken wings and jambalaya though! Overall great night and good food! It's communal Seating so you don't need to wait too long for a table!

Came in for the warmth and loved the food. For those of you who like British football this is a Rangers pub but a few other club scarfs can be seen. Food is excellent and reasonable for the area. Note that given the geographic location all food and drink is more expensive than "down south". Staff is friendly and the food and drink selection excellent.

Very nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Nice menu selection. Had the pan seared steak. Excellent seasoning. Sample platter as appetizer was also very good. Sticky pudding for dessert. And half price wine on Wed was great. Definitely recommend. All co workers also enjoyed it.

Enjoy the ambiance of Old Yellowknife. In summer, dine outside on Yellowknife Bay under the midnight sun. In winter, inside, while checking out the Northern Lights. We are licensed, offer premium coffees & desserts, breakfast, lunch and supper. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 9 AM TO 9 PM.
The artwork and the ambiance of the cafe is lovely. Very cozy with great views.
The menu is small; however, nothing tasted processed. The wraps were tasty and the fries were homemade.
Service was very slow. There was only two women worked for seven tables and we had to ask a couple of times for our missing food. Not sure if this was an exceptionally busier day or just the norm. Staff were very friendly.
