A beautiful cobbled plaza, with colourfully painted shop fronts and made more stunning by the surrounding Mountains and the hand painted chairs and tables that they place in the square. It is quite lively late afternoon, and a great place to have a drink and soak up the atmosphere and people watch. Our toddler had a fantastic time playing with the Colombian kids running around, and it is a place for the whole family. This was our third time to Jardin, and it is one of my favourite towns in Colombia.
It is like stepping back in time.

This is an architectural gem on the inside. Don't miss the stained glass and vaulted ceilings. The statuary is typical. Service was happening in the evening we attended

Jardin is a lovely town and I would highly recommend that you visit the Gallito de Roca Preserve. The Gallito de roca is a beautiful, colorful and very unique bird that you will not want to miss! The only problem is that the path leading to the reserve is steep and rocky and goes along side of a construction site. You will need really good shoes so that you do not fall going down the hill to get to the reserve and coming back up the rocky path to the town. If you are a bird lover, you will not want to miss this great experience.

Coffee tour $25pp is just one of several tours we offer. This tour is for those curious about coffee all the way to the coffee connoisseur. While at the farm you will want to take the tour of the coffee farm which is included in the price of your lodging. Learn all about the painstaking process of growing, harvesting, selecting, shelling, fermenting, drying and roasting coffee so as to produce the finest coffee Colombia has to offer
Gustavo and Martha welcomed us and looked after us as friends. We were given a very personal and informative tour, walking around the coffee plantation full of birds and insects and surrounded by wonderful views. We were then given fantastic coffee and heavenly Colombian rice pudding by Martha. We drove ourselves to the Finca but Gustavo will pick you up in El Jardin in his jeep. This trip was one of the highlights of our Colombian journey. We didn't stay at the farm but the holiday house looked really lovely and would be the perfect place to unwind

We visited Jardin in October 2017 and tried to organise a tour that would take us to Cueva del Esplendor. We were informed that the cave had been closed for safety reasons, most likely to do with the huge amounts of rain they have had in Jardin and the mudslides that occurred in April 2017.
There was no indication as to when the cave would be reopened for visitors.

Arrived at the top of the reserve (about 9000 feet) around 5:45AM and waited for the parrots. Took awhile but our wait was rewarded with more than 80 of the endangered parrots flying over. It is estimated that there are only 250 of the birds left in the wild. It is not an easy place to get to. Road is rough and definitely requires 4x4. Took us almost 2 hours to get to the location for the parrots. Lots of other birds as well

Went there on my last day and had fun, took random pictures with the big wall painting. All of the vintage rooms and details were awesome.

Lack of funds for maintenance are the cause of the closure. The cable looked still reasonably well. According to the people living next to the entrance there is no news to report. 'We wait for an investor...' he told me on 17th of November 2016. It is a pitty because the view on the beautiful village of Jardín must be stunning.

It is basically a cage for 4-5 people which takes you to a banana and coffee plantage. You can have fresh orange juice or cerveza there. Return ticket is for 7000 cop. We went there in the morning to avoid waiting.
