Garrucha is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Garrucha is a seaport of south-eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea and the right bank of the river Antas. In 1998 the town had a population of 5000. The harbor of Garrucha, which is defended by an eighteenth-century castle, affords shelter to large ships, and is the natural outlet for the commerce of a once thriving agricultural and mining district. Garrucha had, at the beginning of the twentieth century a considerable trade in lead, silver, copper, iron, esparto grass and fruit, but now the only export from its harbour is gypsum mined in Sorbas, with a million metric tonnes being exported annually . Besides cargo ships, the port is home to a small fishing fleet and has approximately 300 moorings for leisure boats.

This restaurant offers a fixed price menu which includes a bottle of wine between two people. We visit every time we in this part of Spain as we know we will received good service, good food in comfortable surroundings. Don't be put of by the location, it's well worth a visit.

I never visit Vera (which is a few times every year!) without having lunch at this Chiringuito. The staff are always friendly and smiling, I don't speak much Spanish and they don't understand much English..but we always have a laugh and get what we ordered!
All their food is fresh and tasty and their mixed vegetable tempura is to die for!
After a fabulous lunch and of course some sangria....it's heaven to be able to walk a few steps and crash out on the comfy beds...my favourite place on the Vera Playa! Highly recommend.

After trying several other restaurants we decided to try this one.
This is a really large place so it looked quiet but soon filled up in the outside area.
The food was fine, but everything was overly salty. The food is pricey compared to other restaurants in the area - particularly as IVA 10% was added onto the menu prices

This is alovely spot to eat overlooking the harbour, sadly not fully matched by somewhat indifferent staff and although the food was perfectly acceptable there was nothing memorable to mention, with the one exception of the red Garrucha prawns . If there is one food to eat in this area do please eat these, absolutely the sweetest prawns I have ever eaten. Enjoy, Nick

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of a local diive shop. We had a fantastic meal here, at truely Spanish Fish Restaurant. We tried the famous Red Prawns of Garrucha for our Starter and Gallo Pedro for our Main, another fish typical of this area. Very impressed with the quality of food and the service and not too pricey.
Had the menu with paella of your choice, house made gazpacho soup fresh croutons onions chives fab, paella marisco with desert and wine 15euro persona at night. A little gem of a discovery, paella for two would have fed three. Service family run and friendly

Visited with Spanish friends who eat here a lot.
Bread & dips were lovely to nibble at while we looked at the menu.
My steak was perfection, as was Hubby's. Friends had the mixed grill which looks so nice, I might try that next time.
The house red was very, very good. Very quaffable.
Service was impeccable, our waiter couldn't be more friendly and the lady owner came over and said hello to us.
We sat outside after the meal with a g&T before our walk home.
Not the best location, but the restaurent inside is very nice, and importantly, the food was top notch.
Pleased to recommend.

Reataurant full of charm. Good seasonal food.
No holiday in nearby Vera Playa would be complete without having a family meal in this wonderful restaurant. Run by owner Sean, the food is great, the tranquil setting is beautiful, and the food is a step above most,if not all,of its rivals. No chicken and chips here folks.
The menu is a mixture of Spanish,(Gazpacho anyone ? ), and European, will suit everyones taste. The food is on par with much more expensive restaurants at home.
As well as their restaurant in their beautiful Hotel Tikar, there is also a wine shop that stocks some beautiful vino.
We will be back in Vera Playa in October, and we will be back in Restaurant Azul for sure !

I stopped here for a drink whilst waiting for family members who were having a swim. They joined me afterwards. I was impressed with the service - everything, including a takeaway dish of water for the dog was served on a tray. However, in Vera Pueblo I am used to paying €2.60 for a coffee and cognac so to be charged €3 for the cognac and €1.50 for the coffee seemed excessive, as the cognac was the brand I normally drink. But the view was unbeatable and the menu looked reasonably priced.

Located across the road from the esplanade & port at the Mojácar end of Garrucha, El Cenachero is a pleasant, tidy tapas bar.
Varied Mediterranean/Spanish menu & a good selection of tapas. Did not eat on this occasion but seeing food served to other customers it appeared to be well presented with ample portions.
Reasonably well stocked bar with a selection of wines & beers. Nice coffee too.
Payment by way of cash or card.
At the time of our visit staff were pleasant & efficient & Spanish spoken.
Small pavement outdoor seating/eating area beneath an awning.
Disabled/wheelchair friendly. Family friendly. Toilets clean, tidy, fresh smelling & fit for purpose.
When again in Garrucha I will use this venue.
