The Camel Trail

Reviewed By downssideup - Cornwall

A wonderful dry weather activity for the whole family. Ride your own bikes or hire them from one of the rental shops at each end of the trail (Wadebridge and Padstow). Tag-alongs and trailers are available for younger children and dogs, tricycles for adults who don't cycle (perfect for our Grandma!) and a variety of accessible bikes for cyclists with a disability.
Go for a short stretch or pace yourself and ride the whole trail, stopping for lunch in townbefore retiring, or take a picnic to enjoy en route as you ride along the scenic river. You can even do a spot of bird watching as you go.
Just be aware that in high season the trail can become quite busy. So pick a time of day that might be quieter if you have nervous riders.
If you are lucky you might find a coffee/ice-cream vendor along the way.

Cornish Coasteering

The most fun you can have in a wetsuit! Coasteering is everything you always wanted to do at the seaside when you were a kid but were not allowed! Swim, scramble, climb and jump your way around the cliffs and rocky foreshore. Gain a unique perspective of this stunning stretch of Cornish coastline under the watchful eye of our experienced guides. Coasteering is awesome!

Three of us booked a day ahead to go coast steering. Two of us hadn't done it before (at 59 and 55) and I was a long way outside my comfort zone. Charlie and Henry were very encouraging and I EVENTUALLY managed to achieve all the jumps with very little style! My brain was willing but my legs objected.
The gear provided was so buoyant and I didn't feel the cold water after the first jump.
Go on give it a try.

Pencarrow House and Gardens

Reviewed By rosebayfind - London

The guided tour of the house was very interesting and informative. Sadly, this once splendid house is not lived in any more. It is looking tired, smells musty and in need of repair. However, there is so much to see on the tour that it is still well worth visiting. It is a shame that some of the easier small repairs are not carried out. It would do much to change the atmosphere. Rusty rails and broken stonework doesn't do much to entice. I understand though, that a house such as this requires a lot of upkeep and funds are short. The café serves a variety of refreshments at a reasonable price. There are peacocks and colourful chickens wandering through the area. The Gardens are fabulous. It is well worth spending an hour of two exploring the grounds which offer great opportunities for photos.

Fantastic! My dad had an amazing day and asked me to write this on his behalf. I bought him the experience as a birthday present and he had a terrific day. Very involved, hands on. Most informative and fun. Great to see the beer making process end to end. Made 3000 pints I believe! Tasted loads and had a tasty lunch thrown in. Came away with a presentation pack containing x2 bottles and a glass. Would recommend this to any beer lovers and great to support a small independent. Thanks to Des and George for a great day. They also have a shop on site. Money extremely well spent.

I was lucky to see this beautiful beach on a sunlit winter afternoon, just as the sun was setting behind the hills opposite the car park. There are coffee shops, but this is not commercialised like so many other British Beaches. There is a decent sized car park. A lovely place to enjoy on summer and winter alike.

We have visited before many years ago and knew it was worth a revisit whilst in Cornwall
A little off the beaten path, but worth it.
Helpful staff in shop who assisted with our purchase and tasting great they sell 62 ml glasses for tasting given that everyone would need to drIve here!
They do tours but weather was dreadful so gave this a miss, shame really as lovely Terrace to sit out and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat, but this really is dependant on the weather
Would recommend a visit if your near Bodmin especially if it's a nice day
