Good quality bikes for the whole family, roadbikes and mountainbikes, Minigolf with formula 1 theme, bar built with only recycled material, bike excursions (nature and cultural), kayak rentals, excursions and lessons. In summer there is a nightmarket every night. Right by the beach.
Very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a game of Minigolf and a few drinks before hiring bikes for a couple of hours to cycle round the area. It's a great place to cycle as the terrain is flat and there's plenty of cycle paths.
As a family of 4 we hired 2 adult bikes - one with a seat for our 2 year old and a bike for our 6 year old. All were adjusted to make them comfortable and off we went. A lovely way to spend a few hours as a family - and get some exercise to make up for all the icecream we ate!

Monte Gordo's beachfront is peppered with outdoor bars, kiosks, cafes and restaurants. Therefore, those who would like to enjoy a tasty snack or refreshing cocktail will find there are many establishments from which to choose. Families will be happy to know that the beach at Monte Gordo is ideal for young children because it's wide and flat. In addition, the water is quite warm, making it a perfect choice for swimming enthusiasts.
Absolutely gorgeous beach soft white sand, Very wide and long seems to go on forever plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas €10 for 2people for the day. Various restaurants cafes and bars along the front. Love the wooden walk way the length of the beach great for bikes, push chairs, wheel chairs, or just a lovely stroll. ☀☀

We had an absolutely fantastic week with Faro del Sur.. everything was perfect from start to finish! The apartment was really nice with plenty of space and nice river views. Monica is a really brilliant guide and totally goes out of her way to make your stay with them special and perfect.. she was completely adaptable and when she had a good idea of a great activity was flexible to change the plans to suit us as we were the only ones on holiday with them at this time of year. Esme was also a really lovely guide for the biking and kayaking and she too related really well to my English family of 3 kids aged 16, 14 and 10. I felt so relaxed under their guidance and having Monica drive us to the various activities was great so I didn't need to hire a car!

lovely little town, that has been well looked after and all the restaurants have the same font, thats a nice touch. Slightly touristy in places but in true Portuguese style it does not get in the way, just relax enjoy the feel of the place.
Worth the visit and enjoy.

Lots of shops and restaurants, keep in mind that most shops close 14.00 until around 18.00 which most shops around this area in Spain seem to do though.
Best to visit after 18.00 when all shops and bars etc are open and most ppl in town are out aswell.

The beach itself is big, but it is bearly accessible. You need to cross the river on your way to the beach, but the wooden bridge is broken and closed, although some people use it despite of danger. To cross the river you need to walk about 500 m through dirty dunes. No bathroom facilities, no place to rest. It seems like the beach is forgotten by whoever is responsible for it.
Not recommended.

Uli is the best kitesurf instructor in the world!!! He knows what he does, always watches what you do, rescues you if you are in trouble (he is a lifeguard too!) and he is so nice and muy simpatico! His instructions are clear and easy to understand and the class is well structured so you see your progress. He also realizes if you need more time or place alone to practice.
It was so much fun, i really enjoyed it and i will definitely stick with kitesurfing. Hope to see you again soon, Uli!
