I can strongly recommend a visit to this true traditional Spanish style grilled meats restaurant that provides great service and value for money.
Set in a small village in the hills above Isla Cristina the restaurant is rustic with a true traditional feel.
Our party of eight ordered a cross section of the meats available on the menu which were ample size portions.
We had several jugs of the local sweet wines which went well with the food on offer.
To top this up we ordered the lettuce, onion and tomatoe salad, canary salted potatoes and were served by the two waiters who were attentive and helpful with their advice.
The whole evening including food, drinks and Deserts plus a good tip worked out at 16 Euros per person.
If you are in the area well worth a visit.

We ate here on our first day, price was fair and the staff were friendly. This is a stones throw from the hotel, and on a Sunday this is very busy

Absolutely stunning tapas. If it isn't in the Michelin Guide then it should be. The curry with tempura prawns were AA1, the foie gras (A1), ribs (A1), pork cheeks (AA1), calamari croquettes(AA1), goats cheese salad (AA1), desserts. Top drawer food.

This is a fantastic place to enjoy traditional local cuisine. Situated next to Ayamonte Marina and close to the river it's a perfect stop off when in Ayamonte.
The selection is huge! But I would recommend fish as everything is fresh off the fishing boats in the morning.
The decor and staff are warm and welcoming. It's a well known and well established restaurant and there is a reason that it's been a favourite in Ayamonte for so long. You won't be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I decided to visit La Rana after Reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor.
We did not arrive until 9:30pm on a Monday evening and although it looked empty, we were not put off.
If you are looking for a wide variety of choices with English speaking staff then this is not the restaurant for you however if you want freshly caught and beautifully cooked fish then make La Rana a priority.
We were not shown a menu but truthfully we didn't need one, despite our Spanish being non existent (must learn to speak Spanish) Ana suggested the Seabass big enough for 2 with salad.
After a starter of tomatoes (beautifully seasoned) the cooked Seabass was presented to us on a silver salver. It was expertly boned in front of us and our plates were soon heaped with tender slivers which tasted beautiful.
I am not a huge fish eater but was willing to try and I was not disappointed.
We both had coffee after and despite not leaving until after 11:00pm, we did not feel rushed to leave.
All in all a beautiful meal (for less than €50) in peaceful surroundings and exactly the reason we chose this part of Spain.
Muchos Gracias

We have been holidaying in the Isla Canela for several years, this been one of our favourite unspoilt locations. Whenever there is an English premier league football match, whatever the day of the week, I come and have a few beers. It has a friendly atmosphere and Tina and her staff make you really welcome. Thanks, good luck for the future and hope to see you next year.

Fabulous traditional tapas restaurant, we sat outside and it was lovely. A lot of choices and good wine. We shared some medium plates which were quite big so probably over ordered. The owner was friendly and very nice but service a little slow, but why rush? Good value and would recommend.
