The hiking group leaves from the Cerro Verde park around 11am every day. It's a 2-2.5 hour hike to the top, with breathtaking views. You go through three stages, forrest, then bushes, then rocks. If you get lucky, you also get to see some cool wildlife like birds and coati. There's tourism police that goes with the groups as well as with park guides, so it's very safe. Just bring plenty of water and a sweater for the top.

Gave average score, because cannot tell, if this place is good or bad. It is either way, but not in between. I bit better from inside, but the view from outside is really sad. Once we finally found the place we could not believe THIS was the top attraction of the whole city, to be honest. Kind of weird place, but they could spend a little to improve the outlooks. Not sure, if this is worth going..

Arriving at the lake took us by surprise because we didn't realise that we would drive up the Volcano to get there, so our first sight was a wow moment. It is a stunning sight and you can't take your eyes off of it. We sat and had lunch there so the sun was at it's highest, but I can imagine it's amazing as the sun goes down. Worth a visit.

Went with a couple of friends and this place rocks! We visit three other Beaches around La Libertad, but El Tunco was the spot! Surf lessons, beautiful ladies, Tiki Bars and great food enhanced the overall experience! The waves weren't bad neither, you might need some experience, the bottom is rocky...the local Surfers were cool tho! Anyhow, great place to drink a couple of Cervezas Nacionales, eat seafood and enjoy the views!

It is like strip with restaurants, bars, clubs, stores, street vendors, artist, and performer’s. All local people with few forgings. Very affordable prices and very extremely fun to me. Absolutely safe and using uber very cheap to get there like less than $10 dollars each way from the InterContinental hotel.

The Iglesia Santa Lucia dominates the central square in Suchitoto and is fine example of colonial-style architecture. The dark wooden columns are distinctive. Like so many churches in the region, it is a calm, cool place to take a break, collect your thoughts, and perhaps attend a mass.

We visited here with a guide and we are so glad we did. He took us to 4 different Waterfalls and they were all incredible. Would definitely recommend checking this out.

Excavation at "Jewel of the Ceren", a pre-Columbian Mayan farming village, that was buried under a volcanic eruption around 600 A.D.
Stopped here first on our day trip of the archaeological route with EC Tours' Edwin. $3 entry for foreigners. Fascinating site that's the “Pompeii of the Americas” because it's so well preserved under 4-8 meters of ash. Museum is closed due to ongoing renovation with reopening date unknown.
Even if you only have a few hours in San Salvador you can go visit this site and nearby San Andreas!

One of my favorite places to go when visiting El Salvador. Quiet, private and cool water all year round. There are a couple of hotels or little restaurants to soak in the view. We rent a room at Cardieu - private and Chic style.
Inexpensive and safe to visit!

Delicious food served by friendly helpful staff, outdoor dining with awesome views of the Pacific, nice area to walk, people watch, and visit the pier where fisherman bring in their daily catches. Being on the coast afternoons are very hot and humid. Enjoyable day strolling, eating, and enjoying our surrounding.
