Enjoyed our interactions with all of the animals so much, we came back the next morning for an intimate experience of feeding the kids, milking the goats and making homemade laundry detergent. Flory and Rob are incredible people, welcoming you into their home and dedicated to educating patrons on the experience of raising goats. Highlight of our vacation! Hope to come back soon

My partner and I had the pleasure of visiting the Confederation Centre of the Arts during our stay in Charlottetown this past summer. During our first day we were sure to take in “The Story of Confederation,” which was a fine albeit simplified version of the coming together of Canada. We also took a look at the Confederation Chamber replica. I always appreciate it when a city embraces its historic past rather than try to sweep it under the rug as we’ve tended to do with a lot of things these days.
For us, the main event was being able to witness and see “Anne of Green Gables – The Musical” later in the evening. Now recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the “longest running annual musical theatre production,” the musical is now in its 53rd season. To witness this play is to witness the best of Canadiana. LM Montgomery would be proud of this rendition of her classic book series. The production values are top notch; the music sets the mood for the story; and the actors and actresses give it their all. Even if you have never read the source material from which this play Springs, you can still nevertheless get a real fix and feel for the underlying themes of the story and how they very much represent the heart and soul of a country. Indeed, the show is a beautiful piece of Canadian artistic and Literary history; thus, it is only fitting that the longest running musical in history should play in a building designed to serve as the bastion of Canadian artistic ethos.
If you are visiting Charlottetown, the Confederation Centre of the Arts is a definite “must stop.” It provides historic context while seamlessly blending our contemporary time and space – a nation moving ever forward and onward. And if you happen to get the chance to see the Anne of Green Gables musical then do yourself a favour and get tickets. The production is outstanding in every respect and, hey, by the end of it you just might find yourself craving some raspberry cordial ;)

Rise and Climb Adventure Course

Reviewed By Robert R

Had such a good time here, wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is afraid of heights. But it is a lot of fun, a guide starts you off teaching you he basics, fits you in your harness, and carefully explains the course and the safety's you need to know about climbing, plus they make sure you understand the safety behind it all. Once you get on the main "jungle gym". You are pretty much on your own, three different levels to climb, and certain paths on the course are harder than others, if I lived in PEI, I would def. get a season pass and be there as much as I could. There is a zip line you can use to get to the ground quickly or a slow repel system. Top height is 45' roughly. Loved every minute of this. But be aware that you may get a little roughed up doing the course, not for the faint hearted. Awesome awesome fun! Can't wait to go back and do it all again!!

Rusty Rover Tours took us (a couple) on a thoroughly enjoyable and comprehensive journey through all the features of Lucy Maud Montgomery's life including all the highlights of Anne of Green Gables. Irwin our host was most knowledgeable and it was clear that he had many connections with people that actually opened more doors for us than is usually possible with tours. What started off as a 4 hour tour ended up being nearly 6 as we visited the famous sites, buildings and shore lines that featured so much with LMM.
The tours can accommodate up to about 12 people. but for us on our day it was just two. For us he brought LMM to life.
We are very happy to recommend Rusty Rover Tours for the devotees of LMM and Anne of Green Gables.

If you visiting Charlottetown and want a really cool spot to stop in, Deep Roots is the excellent choice. The distillery is located approx. 5 minutes outside Charlottetown and sits on an apple orchard. The tour is great, the staff are super friendly and you learn about not only the distillery but about the farm & orchard. Their products are incredible, taking the tour gives you the option to taste them all. We loved the Maple Liqueur, chilled on the rocks is amazing. We brought a bottle home and all our friends have been begging us to get more.

The Hughes-Jones Centre for People and Animals

The Hughes-Jones Centre (HJC) is set in the rural landscape of Cornwall PEI on 75 acres of beautiful agricultural land. Architecturally designed, our funky facility is home to a herd of 14 - 18 horses as well as their caretakers (my husband and I). HJC was established in 2008 to better serve people and animals in our community by teaching western horseback riding lessons. In that time we have been fortunate to meet people from all over the world who have included us in their travel plans. Our horse program and facility is unique. We would love to meet you and introduce you to our horses! Summer day camp options and lesson options for those on short terms stays. Upstreet Craft Brewing

At Upstreet, we believe in community almost as much as we believe in making the best possible beer. Imagine a gathering place to come together with friends, to meet your neighbours and to celebrate camaraderie over a beer and a few laughs. Whether you're having a beer in our brewery or on your front porch, you're part of our community - where we celebrate the people, the places and the activities we love.

Noted this place on the map & decided to give it a try as it's outside the usual touristy area. A bit hard to find, but if you arrive at the Sobey's it's just behind.
Good selection of beers and a small beer garden created out the front, which was perfect for us on a sunny day. Our favourite was the 'Eighty-bob' although we tried everything on the tasting paddle.
Well worth the effort to find and spend a while.

When deciding to travel through PEI and experience true Island cuisine, we were so excited to find Chef Ross with PEI Culinary Adventures. Even though the weather played a factor in our plans, Ross made sure our day started with delectable smoked salmon bagels and hot coffee; getting us safely on the boat for some lobster fishing; deliciously warm aromatic Chi milk to sip on the way to the local farm where our fresh produce was grown. The watching Ross create a meal that was worth waiting for - even though the rain and wind almost didn't allow this day to happen. Our day ended with the perfect PEI experience of a seafood cuisine. This is a 'must do' when in PEI.
