Whatever road we take in Banda Aceh, it will lead to Baiturrachman Mosque.
Always full with visitors. The best time to visit is between 10:00am to 11:30am. As Banda Aceh is very hot get ready with your sun cream.
You need to wear fully covered attire to visit the mosque. No jeans or leggings.

Museum Tsunami in Banda Aceh is a must to visit.
The building itself is designed to capture the emotion of the tsunami victims and situation.
The museum is divided into 3 sections: the tragedy, the fear and hope.
I only have the admiration to the survivors.
The museum has good access for wheelchairs.

Some pretty good/interesting exhibits of Aceh weapons, an Aceh house built without nails, various Aceh memorabilia and (of course) a stuffed two headed buffalo...

I and a polish couple booked two bungalows from Sikandang. After arriving we were told there was only a bungalow available so the Poles decided to sleep on hammocks.I was given an accomodation 100 meters far from toilette. No maintenance on the room.Door difficult to close and window lying on the soil. There was a storm during a night and I had to put my luggage against the door to prevent opening by wind.About food, some day we had fish and often only eggs and rice.During mealtime the topic it was dreaming of italian food. The island is small and nice. There is some coral bank near the bungalows, but nothing extraordinary and few fishes around. There is no swamp in the island so no need of mosquito net.If better managed it could be fantastic!

When tsunami strike this place in 2004, this beach was disappeared from the map. But after 12 years, this beach has restored to its beauty. Actually this beach is separated from Sumatra island and only connected with a bridge. That’s why they named this beach Ulle Lehue which means the separated head. This is the right place to enjoy the sunset. Especially when you witness the fisherman boat comes home from open sea with the silhouette background of sunset. It was just like the picture in the postcards.

This place is quite simple and self explanatory that you don't need guide to see this small place. However the muzeum staff, a lady, insisted that we follow her to see the place. So you felt compell to give her some money, which was necessary really.
