Had a very romantic dinner here with my partner, the two staff although could speak very little English were so helpful and tried there best to converse and make us feel welcome and comfortable. Food, wine and beer was amazing. We had antipasto for entree and I ordered lamb chops for main while my girl ordered stuffed crepes with sausage and vegetables. They also gave us loads of extras. Cant rave enough on how good the food was. A must try if your in Lanciano or close to it.

Caniloro is an agriturismo with places to stay as well as a fine restaurant. The owners (and their family) are very friendly and you are free to roam around the farm and see the animals -- cows, goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, and more. My daughter and I stayed there in a small apartment and we got to watch the nonno milking the cows and the proprietaria make ricotta and hard cheese from the milk.
The restaurant cooks everything from scratch from what's produced there, including olive oil, cheeses and specialty salamis, Ventricina and Salsicciotto Frentano. They make excellent traditional specialties of Abruzzo, and the prices are very reasonable. They are part of Slow Food Italia. This is a really special place -- close to the city of Lanciano but definitely out in the country, rustic and very traditional. It helps to know a little Italian. Ottimo cibo e posto. Highly recommended.

We ate here midweek and slighlty early by Italian eating times around 7.45pm. A good welcome, fantastic food in a lovely historic old basement with magnificient vaulted ceilings. The food was very fine too. Fish anti Pasta was great. Service was quick by Itlalian standards and the price was very good and very similar to any other local eatery and we have been in most over the last few years. Well worth a visit.

If the wooden doors are closed, ring the doorbell. The salad and lamb chops were fine as was the Prosecco and Montepulciano but the tagliolini with truffles was not. The truffles had no flavor at all. As if they had come out of a cellophane bag. Paper would taste about as good. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. But not really worth a second try.

Tried this place for a late lunch. They were still busy, seemingly with the business lunch crowd, but they managed to find a table for four. We wall opted for the set meal, starting with the Pallotte Cacio e Uovo (bread and cheese balls). We all liked it so much I searched out a recipe, where I learned this is an "iconic" Abruzzesi dish from the cucina povera tradition. Bits of cheese and, traditionally, stale bread are bound with an egg and rolled into balls that are first fried, then simmered in a simple but wonderful tomato sauce. Pasta Fagiole came next. Just so-so, but admittedly it's not my favorite dish. I might have given Osteria Patri 4 or maybe even 5 starrs except for the fried lamb course. Dry and overcooked, a criminal thing to do to my favorite meat.

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. It is a bit hidden but worth a meal. Prices are reasonable and meal is abundant.
I had the risotto (don't remember which one) and it was delicious; my husband had fish and it was also very good.
Prices are very reasonable

Good grilled meat, especially the small lamb kebabs (arrosticini). Good atmosphere, good service, good value (60 euros for 2, 4 courses, wine/coffee/digestive drinks - difficult to find those prices in Italy now. Our second visit and will return whenever we are in the area.
