Zutphen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzɵtfə(n)] ( listen)) is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some 30 km northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river IJssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. The name Zutphen (first mentioned in the eleventh century) appears to mean 'zuid-veen', or in English, south-fen. In 2005, the municipality of Zutphen was merged with the municipality of Warnsveld, retaining its name. In 2017, the municipality had a population of 47,423.

Enjoy your stay in a vital, cosy and inspiring atmosphere. Taste the region trough te creative dishes of Peter Gast.
This place completely surprised us. The food is amazing. The staff is knowledgeable and execute their service well. The atmosphere is modern and appealing. The menu choices feature fresh, local ingredients prepared in visually stimulating and tasty ways.
On this Saturday, we choose for the Summer Menu of 2 amuse and 3 courses with the additional pairing of wine.
We did start with a couple of glasses of Cave and I finished with the cheese instead of the desert.
While being on the upward side of most people's budgets, the food and service sparkled. So it was well worth it. This is an enjoyable dining experience.

They serve a variety of cold and warm appetizers, different fish dishes (cod, salmon, tuna, seafood) and very good meat dishes (very juicy steaks, spare ribs, sate, ribeye) in a very nice, initimate setting. Very friendly people. Open kitchen to show you what is going on. Recommended as one of the best in Zutphen.

We have been for a birthday coffeedrink with 15 people at the IJsselpaviljoen, on the IJsselkai near the old bridge across the IJssel in Zutphen. The location is perfect. Beautiful view from the serre of the restaurant over the river and the greenlands on the the other side. Much glass so much to see. Location is perfect; nearby the Railway station of Zutphen and walking distance into the mediëval city of the old town. The coffee was very good, above average in a Dutch restaurant, including the Cappucino. Only the service can be significant better. The four young waitresses were quite amateuristic. Dirty cups too long kept on our table, no real leadership of one of the girls, not clear who was responsible to serve our group. Typical Dutch experience: leading is that the service personnel is cheap; quality is 2nd order. Price worth. Coffee for EUR 2,-. cappu for EUR 2,30 and a glas of wine for EUR 3,50. We haven't had a meal.

Grieks restaurant
A very nice greek restaurant in Zutphen. I ate here several times and every time is fantastic! You always get an ouzo on the house and the service is friendly and fast. The food is amazing, especially the mussels as an appetizer and the main courses you can order from 2 persons or more. Our daughter cannot eat a whole child's menu and it is no problem to get an extra plate, so she can eat with us without extra charge. I love it!

We made our reservation online and on arrival we asked to be seated in the cellar which was accomodated. Much nicer there, our waitress greeted us, we shared the antipasta starter which was sufficient for two sharing , we both opted for the mixed pasta, my wife had advised of a peanut alergy so one of the pastas apparently contained walnuts so in an abundance of caution this pasta was replaced with one that did not have any nuts, a nice touch. Of the pastas the salmon lasagna was the hands down winner, did not enjoy the canneloni which seemed not overly fresh nor was the pasta house made. The house wine was ok but at 19 Euro overpriced. The surroundings were wonderful, we would go again. The mixed platters for mains looked good and the antipasta platter would make a great lunch for two.

Food was fine, but it was amazing how full the restaurant was, with people continually filing past to be accommodated in the basement. So much juggling was happening that a number of people were asked to relocate tables so more people could be crammed in. This detracted from the experience, although it was done with some charm.
