The first time we visited the restaurant was for just having a cup of coffee the waiter was willing to service this although the restaurant was nearly closing.
The restaurant is located in a very old house with a beatifull atmosphere and having an open fire, very friendly service . The second time we visited was for diner. The presentation was nice and the food was delicious.

My husband and I happened on this gem during a bike trip down the Mosel. Jutta and Christoph Koch, the proprietors of the guest house and restaurant, were gracious hosts. Though we didn't stay at the guest house, we had a scrumptious dinner of local produce and meats in the garden restaurant. After our meal, Jutta and Christoph sat with us to talk in a mixture of English and German about a wide variety of topics. It's clear that they love the work they do. For a relaxed dining experience, complete with wines from Christoph's winery, don't miss Gutsweinschaenke Till E. It's a perfect place to unwind after a day of travel.

A wonderful evening. And funny!
Who would expect the beast meal on the Mosel to be greekish?
El greco gave us an evening with light, delicate food.
Entrees: grilled vegetables, salad with sheep fromage. Main courses:
brochettes with. Lamb. /
Brochettes with mixet grill. Both done to succes ! And in between came an unordered farmers salad !!! :) perfect one !!!
Had a long chat with the host . Hos wievs upon salads were obvious after having tasted his. A taste of Green wine was an eyeopener to new ideas.
The menu was thoroughly biological which was very clear from the taste of everything.
A chat with the host reveeled his really burning desire to make the best meal possible. A warm and cosy evening. If you are in Zell make do with the local wonderful wines, drop the heavy german kitchen for once and eat a greek meal. They Mosel wines and The greek food works wonderfully together!!!
My best recommendations ! And greetings to a cook and philosopher.

The food was poor. Not much flavour and just sloppy. A real disappointment. Way overdone veg. Tried it to give my vegan wife a bit of a change and it was not at all what we hoped for. The Mumm champagne was not . Change for my €100 note did not appear and had to be asked for. I would advise avoiding this place.

Brilliant butcher with a large selection of award winning sausages & salami. Great choice, have a snack for lunch whilst you shop. Centrally located, helpful & knowledgable staff. Well worth stopping if you're passing through Zell.

A few hundred meters from the Mosel, it well worth turning away from the river at Merl and follow the Merlerbach up its narrow valley to the Burgerstube. There is parking in front of the restaurant. Here you will find German cooking at its best.
The extensive menu has something for everybody – steaks, schnitzels, fish, mushrooms, salads and snacks. The food is cooked to perfection and very attractively presented. Portions are generous and prices, fair. Excellent quality local wines are not only available by the bottle but by the glass.
English is spoken fluently.

In our three week European trip this was one of only two restaurants I would rate five stars. The menu was limited which was good since the offerings were creative, well prepared and interestingly presented. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine, food and excellent service. Inside the restaurant is very small so I would recommend making a reservation particularly when the weather doesn't allow eating outside. The price for our meals was extremely reasonable specially considering the quality of the food. Desert is not offered.

The space is intimate and comfortable, for breakfast we usually have coffee with some of their home made pastries. The Baker is outstanding, everything we have tried has been outstanding. The staff is helpful but their english is limited but we have not found that to be a problem. This is a family run restaurant and you can tell they put their hearts in to it. Located in central Zell along the pedestrian street. Highly recommend.

The café restaurant is a converted station overlooking the Moselle, coming from the East along the river footpath more or less the first place you tumble across. We ate outside but the interior seemed very charming. It is owned by one of the local winegrowers and serves an interesting list of their products, red and white, still and sparkling, as well as beer. Food is traditional German, substantial and very tasty.
The service remained friendly and efficient despite dealing with a capacity crowd, some tourists like us but many people from the neighbourhood which I guess speaks for the relative quality of the food and wine on offer.
