Pre-Inca ruins and lively festivals are just some of the highlights that Tilcara has to offer. On the outskirts of the small Argentinian town, the Pucará de Tilcara draws archaeology buffs and tourists who are intrigued by ancient civilizations. The stone ruins of a warrior tribe, the Pucará de Tilcara offers insight into the daily triumphs and struggles of the people who flourished here over 10,000 years ago.

I ate three times in this restaurant with two out of three experiences pleasing. Do not under any circumstances order a chicken dish because when you leave you must go to another restaurant to staisfy your hunger. The chicken portions were extremely small and rubbery in texture. Steak dishes were good. I also highly recommend Nuevro Progresso for their dishes but will warn you that on my last visit a small boy of perhaps four years followed his mother to the tables as she took orders and served food. This situation served to dampen the meal for us.

Latin American, Vegetarian
We three went for dinner last night. The restaurant is imaginative and brightly decorated with art work. we had lamb and a llama steak and both were delicious! We tried the Malbec rose: robust and great as well as Domingo Hermanos Malbec which was very smooth and full bodied. Highly recommended - well done team!

The "little guest house" restaurant offers a broad selection of items on its menu. The empanadas and soup were very good. The resto is cozy, the staff friendly and the food good.

Comidas Regionales y de las otras. Bebidas espirituosas. Un espacio dónde la música la hacemos todos, traé tu instrumento musical y sinó te prestamos.
Very cosy restaurant (different rooms with very nice interior). The food is excellent, for us it was among the best we had in Argentina. And the prices are unbeatable for what you get. Also the desert is fantastic. We can highly recommend this place.

We came here on 2 nights out of 3, and wished we'd stuck with it on the third night too! The food was excellent, and the staff really friendly. I also loved that they had a good selection of wines, all available either by the bottle, 500 ml, or 250 ml. Usually it is just a house wine by the glass, and everything else only by the bottle. I had the locro on both visits (yum!) and my boyfriend had the lentil stew and the llama in orange sauce, both of which were delicious. Prices were reasonable, and you could pay on card. Normally we'd not mind paying in cash, but in Argentina everywhere charges you a fortune whenever you withdraw cash... so we try and pay on card wherever possible! Would highly recommend El Patio.

In principle, this is a sweet small restaurant offering reasonable food. Unfortunately it is let down by the service with is apathetic and indifferent - fortunately a rare experience in Argentina. The result is that the overall atmosphere is not very warm nor friendly.

This is a nice restaurant just across from the main plaza. Usually open for lunch and dinner. The staff is very helpful and the place is very typical from this part of the country. Our food was good, our beers were called, and we really enjoy our visit here.

La cocinera, es una chica joven...con muchísimas ganas de mostrarte su manera de cocinar...y si llamás por teléfono al 0388-4730371...te preparan la comida para que la lleves.Esta chica, se merece que pases...y la conozcas.
Lovely restaurant- nice decor, clean bathrooms & friendly service. Asked for thin pizza & it was the best pizza we have had in Argentina. Lovely roast veg salad.

Tried 2 empanadas and a tamal as starters, liked especially the empanadas.
Then we had the cazuela de llama and the locro, the ideal meals for a cold and windy day! Service and atmosphere were nice, too.
Went a second time and tried a pizza, which was OK but very cheesey. I recommend to stick to the local dishes.
