Our experience was much different than those previously commenting. The Caesar salad came with bacon and other vegetables not typically on a traditional Caesar salad, and without a Caesar dressing, and steak recommended by owner was very tough, but a decent flavor. I realize we were in Costa Rica and menu items would be a bit different than our expectations but, really, if you are going to market something called a Caesar salad, at least know how to make it! On the other hand, our meal at the Longhorn in Tronadora for half the price was far superior, and more adequately represented!

to most people on the planet, Tilaran will be as close to the middle of nowhere as one can get. When travelling from Costa Rica's Pacific coast to the Arenal volcano, however, it is a suitable place for a lunchbreak. We checked Mary's and Catala off the Parque Central and found both of them too noisy. So we ended up two blocks away, at Guadeloupe - simple, clean, friendly and good value. The fajitas were in fact delicious. Suitably restaured we continued our drive toArenal (and for those wondering: the road is in excellent shape).

Food, service and surroundings all good. I would not hesitate in recommending this establishment. Even though we didn't book they were able to accommodate our table of 11.

We visited for lunch en route between Arenal and Monte Verde. The BBQ was excellent with very tasty ribs and steak as well an addictive onion and Chile pickle and standard trimmings of patacones, salad etc. We were lucky enough to sit upstairs so we ate with a gorgeous view of the lake and some water birds. The atmosphere of this place is timeless from hanging saddles, the massive pile of wood to the old style Latin Western music. Friendly service and vibe.

We went here for dinner one night since it was recommended be a few of our friends that live in the area. Our experience was not the best for dining in the area. I ordered the pasta with walnut . It was so salty I cound not eat it. My wife order a rice dish and the rice was undercooked and crunchy.
Even though I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waiter he either didn't understand or didn't care.

Rock River by Brasov! We are a restaurant, bakery and lounge housed in a spacious facility overlooking Lake Arenal and the surrounding countryside!<br>For those who already know us we are the former restaurant from the same area Casa Delagua Transylvania!
Living in the area, we like to try new places at least once.
The service was quick. We tried a variety of meats. The sausage was the best.
Highlight - dessert. Cheesecake. Wow! Tasted like coffee flavored butter.
Not so good - I found the eclair pastry tough.
Bad - a lingering odor of tabaco smoke.
We will come back.

New and VERY good. I went on opening day. I ha a Mochaccino and perfect baked snack. There is a large variety of options, delicious looking baked goods and many choices for coffee and espresso drinks, plus many options to choose from for fresh fruit smoothies.
