I eat here 3 or 4 times per year and the food is always outstanding. Be prepared to wait as everything is prepared from fresh but is well worth the wait. Price is not for every day dining but then for this quality you would not expect it to be.
Highly recommended!

I visited this restaurant several times during my week in Solingen. The first day, and it was a monday, the place was completely full. We went back other times, for dinner or after dinner. The food was delicious and the alt bier as well. Once...MoreThanks alot, we hope to see you once again at Kaffeehaus.

Monthly changing menu, fish and seafood typically with a slightly unexpected touch. Always very fresh from their own next door seefood shop.
Wines served by the glas and "mini deserts" allow for full indulgence without full calories.
Unassuming, contemporary tasteful dining room with competent and extremely charming service.

Great cosy restaurant : the sauces for the pastas are home-made (you can really taste it !), the staff is really nice and gives good advises, portions are really big and there's a lot of choices in the menu (for both pizzas and pastas).
My dish was perfectly cooked and simply delicious ! All my friends really enjoyed their dinner as well.
In more, prices are really not expensive so : just go !

The café lies in the village below the castle (Burg) and there is a free public car park next door although we usually walk to it from neighbouring Glueder because we love the well organised and signposted footpaths through the Forests along the valley beside the Wupper.
The café is fairly small although upstairs in addition to the restaurant there is a balcony with outside Seating. We have always received a warm welcome (although speaking German does definitely help!)
The cafe lies in Bergisches Land and one of the local dishes is Waffel with cherries (Kirschen) and cream (Sahne). If you like sweet dishes then this comes highly recommended. My husband prefers savoury so he opted for the Bockwurst with potato salad. There is, of course, always a wonderful selection of cakes.
From the restaurant you can look down on the pretty village of Unterburg with its half-timbered buildings. Nearby is the chair lift to the top where you can visit the castle. There are also more restaurants up there that also serve Waffeln!

Great steaks, lamb, and also pasta dishes (this is what we decided to order, but I'm sure other dishes would taste lovely too). Fresh salad bar as an addition to each dish. Pleasant service. We wanted to come back the next day, but it was too busy! Good advise is to reserve beforehand.

Wonderful place at the end / beginning of a walk along the Korkenziehertrasse. Staff are always smiling and friendly and happy to cater for special requests. The portions are very generous, the food well-cooked, served hot, and delicious!
The WCs are a bit old-fashioned but clean.
